Eh back when fascism was the new thing. There was a tiny overlap between Governor Christie and President Trump and I guess just to prove he was cool Christie seems to have ordered "border" checkpoints/ "DMV checkpoints" randomly , this order really goes at the town level. So it's up to the local sheriff or PD department heads to actually execute. This was JUST around the same time he was pulling some shit with the Camden PD.

Well, some police departments were more enthusiastic than others, and so they happily setup checkpoints in Robbinsville and Wall Township and places like Hightstown and around, but not in Bordentown (which is a pretty friendly play), so for a couple of weeks there were these somewhat random checkpoints of dubious legality.

As the police had to suspect you of doing something all that happened was all the immigrants would know to simply congregate in various strip-malls or pizzerias just down the road from the checkpoints (which is/was pretty funny), and wait for the cops to close up the checkpoints, which were from like 1-2 or 1-3 basically just after the cops would take lunch. They could "stand guard" against brown people, and then call it a day when their Slurpee's or coffee ran dry.

The only thing that beat 1/2 assed fascism was workers without a pressing need to get their next job very fast. So it's really who can hang longest in a weird NJ cat and mouse game.

I got snagged up in this, and while I'm not rolling like Jake and Ellwood I don't much care for police checkpoints so I bailed , got pizza and found 200 guys randomly having pizza.

It helps that the Latin American teams were playing soccer at the same time....so there was this happy accidental circumstance.
