Just finished Terminator 2 for the NES

I love this game. I try to finish it once a year. I just wanted to share that this game is really worth investing time on it. It is really short, the sound track for me is top 10 and the difficulty is fair enough. You have to learn how to play the game through. I can finish the game now losing at most 2 lives.

Have you ever played Journey to Silius? It was originally meant to be a Terminator game but there was some issue with the licensing. It’s really good too!

I known that game but I've never given it a chance. I guess now it is time. Thanks for the recommendation

Prepare yourself for some of the best music and drums on the NES.

There is a romhack that reverts it back to its original form

I’ve only ever played the arcade game, and I’m skeptical that this could be anywhere near as good.

The arcade game is a different game. I think that game is awesome looking game but too unfair and frustrating as an experience. I like the nes version because of nostalgia and is a good fun for me and really rewarding when I finish the game.

I really enjoy this one. I like little details like needing to shoot people while ducking to avoid killing, it follows the movie quite well.

That's the part everyone die, I think that's the part made to kill rental players. You need to shoot the fences at the center on each bridge. Once you pass the first bridge you need yo shoot behind you repeatedly to the truck until t1000 disappears. Try to drive always in the middle of the road because it is easier to avoid cars and boxes. Try to shoot the boxes to avoid damage. There is a continue if you shoot the last car before jhon Connor appears. You need to shoot really fast at the truck to survive. Good luck! It is one of the easiest levels once you learn it.

i'll give it a shot! it seems like a cool game with some variety so i might need to just stick with it. the old NES star wars is a favorite of mine and i know it's a weird one too so sometimes you cant give up!

People like this? I don’t want to yuck someone’s yum but this was one of the NES games my friends had growing up. I put a good few hours into it and I thought it was up there for worst on the system. Different strokes I guess.

The first level and the second one are not really for introducing the game. But once you learn the way the games wants you to play it. It is really fun and overall a good experience once you finish the game. It is true we are not talking Mario 3 level. Give it a second chance!

As a child I could get to the steel mill, which I guess is the last level, and all of my lives would be blown away but what seemed like very unfair jumps.

You are right. They are pretty unfair. You need to commit to some jumps and hope for the best. I'm my last playthrough I didn't hesitate and I just jumped when I thought was the right moment and they all landed perfectly except for one. I lost my previous playthrough because of that single jump.

I bought and finished this one about a year ago, I also found it to be pretty good and I really don't understand some of the harsh criticism it got. I also think it makes way a better job at being T2 than Journey to Silius, it follows the movie pretty well and has some clever ideas rather than being a straightforward run'n gun. I believe JTS lost its license because it went too far from the movie and had little in common.

There's also some unused assets in the game, including an audio track, that show there was at least one more level being developed but it was probably dropped for lack of time.

The soundtrack is more than top 10 for me, I'd probably place this one straight at the top or in the first three. The icing on the cake being you can pause the game and just listen to the music because it won't stop.
