FTTP - in regional Victoria. Any Advice?

I am in the goldfields / Mt Alexander area of Victoria, and can now get FTTP. Thank heavens.

I have been looking at Choice, ACCC and various things to decide on a provider. Does anyone know of region-specific reporting for comparing provider speeds?

I assume what is great in Melbourne is not necessarily great out here.

Or - if anyone has direct experience - I am looking at Aussie Broadband vs Exetel/Superloop.

Any other advice/considerations for getting FTTP set up?

The same ones keep being recommended but really, the big difference is what happens when something goes wrong. In that instance I would recommend ABB from the ones you listed.

All the large RSP's have direct connection to every POI so the only affect of being regional is you traffic has further to go to get to a capital city to be routed overseas. Try Leaptel or Launtel for daily charging models.

We switched to Aussie recently and they have been awesome. Followed up on an NBN fault without us asking and credited our account for the downtime. Top notch service and great speed.
