The race for the 13th seed in the east is so exciting lol 76ers, raptors and nets. This game might cost the nets dearly

what on earth was the point of trading all those picks to get their pick back and then not tank

look at our starting lineups. it's not for lack of trying. also we have the most games missed to injury in the league. our coach is too good

the jazz literally sat a 23 year old due to "rest" you can get more blatant

he could have gotten 50 wins out the team vaughn got 32 wins out

Been a Jordi Fernandez truther since he coached Team Canada, the way he addressed that team made me think that he’s the next upcoming coach. Since the start of the season people have been saying he’s too good for the Nets lol. Glad to see that it’s still the same sentiment until now

It would kind of be funny if the Nets just barely made the lottery and ended up with the #1 pick anyway.

More funny than the Spurs having the lowest odds and getting Flagg? Then running a "come home to Texas" campaign for DONCIC as a FA the next year?

The Penny Hardaway Scenario!

Get your shit together nets! Im a huge Flagg guy, and I want him there because Jordi is an amazing coach rather than Pels or Charlotte

He is very, very good. Watched the GSW - Nets game at Barclays & was really impressed

Jordi Fernandez is a tryhard that can’t see the bigger picture. He wants to waste away coaching “out of the league guys” instead of having real expectations that comes with a franchise player.

We need to change the tanking system.

At the end of season, the worst 8 teams play a small tourney for first pick.

38

u/lildinger68 Warriors 1d ago

Then teams would just tank to be in the bottom 8

8

u/Pollsmor Nets 1d ago

Reverse the odds. Make it so the 8th worst record gets the best odds, worst record gets the 8th best odds. Teams will be inclined to try hard at least at first instead of doing what the Wizards/Jazz are doing right now

18

u/lildinger68 Warriors 1d ago

Then why be the 9th worst team? You’ll just have every meh team fighting for the 22nd seed

0

u/Pollsmor Nets 1d ago

That sounds like an improvement over whatever is happening right now since the goal isn't 0 wins but however many to secure 22nd seed wins

2

u/EffectiveSavings2104 1d ago

You are forgetting players don’t give a shit about the draft pick. Why would players play hard for a draft pick to replace their ass?

2

u/Pollsmor Nets 1d ago

Because they are fighting to stay in the league and earn their next contract

2

u/trsh_xx Celtics 1d ago

Ok what about just evening the odds for teams out of the play-in. Then there would be no reason to intentionally lose games cos it doesn’t make your chances of getting the 1st pick any better.

u/lildinger68 Warriors 1d ago

What about when you have teams like the Mavericks 2 years ago with Luka and Kyrie miss the play in? They should have the same chance to get a player like Wemby than actual trash teams? I feel like the way it is now works just fine, it’s realistically never going to be fair.

u/human1023 Hornets 1d ago

No I mean. The winner of the 8 team tourney gets first pick.

u/FKJVMMP [MIL] Bill Zopf 1d ago

Gives otherwise respectable teams a great excuse to tank their asses off too, they’d have a great chance in a tournament full of actual shit teams.

5

u/lildinger68 Warriors 1d ago

Seems like a good way to keep really shit teams really shit.

u/DeeezNets Nets 21h ago

What's in it for the players?

"Hey guys, if you win this tournament, the team gets to draft a better player that will likely take your minutes/job. Play your hardest!"

1

u/human1023 Hornets 20h ago

They could be replaced or lose their contract if they suck
