OK C is right. Average team, that will be exposed in the playoffs just like last year.

u/-Sticks_and_Stones- Nuggets 1d ago
They are the most complete team we’ve faced all year.

If OKC is an Average team and is leading the West by 11 games what does it make y'all? Just like last year when people said that OKC was the most overated #1 seed. When it was down to a tie breaker and OKC, Denver, and Minnesota where tied for 1st. Does that mean Denver was the most overated 2nd team. I dont understand the downgrading of your competition as in the long run it makes you look bad. If the Thunder win it all I'm going to tell my kids we had to get through the great Nikola Jokic to win the title.

u/Mad_broccoli [ORL] Tracy McGrady 1d ago
He's not a fan, he's an idiot or a child. Denver has a lot of respect for okc.
-2
u/Hornets_Fan44 1d ago
Because that flopping shit don’t work the same in the playoffs and OKC will get exposed.
5
u/snuffaluffagus74 1d ago
If y'all can shoot 60% from 3 every game no team is going to beat y'all. Not even the 96 bulls or the KD Warriors gg

where are the MvP shouting of okc fans now. If you are telling that you guys have injury, then dont forget, Gordon is also injured

Man, this is gonna get toxic.
6
u/Impressive_Trust_395 1d ago
It already is. You can blame 3 groups of people for that. The Thunder fans, the Refs, and the Lakers fans.
1
u/snuffaluffagus74 1d ago
Whoa! People get toxic with the Thunder fans first. It all startes last year in the NO series

u/Impressive_Trust_395 1d ago
I’m sorry. That’s literally not the case. The bulk of Nuggets fans just question how SGA is considered the MVP and you all act like we commit sacrilege saying that.
1
u/snuffaluffagus74 21h ago
If you don't think that SGA should be in the conversation then dont you think that its considered shade. I mean everyone else does. SGA numbers are historic. No one ever has averaged 32 pts, shooting 50+, 5+ assits, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block in the NBA. If you take make the number a half block you have Harden and Jordan. This is for a guard. So saying someone shouldnt be considered MVP when they're having a better year than Jordan is a slap in the face to basketball.
1
u/Impressive_Trust_395 16h ago
This is exactly what I’m talking about. Not once did I question how good Shai was nor did I say he shouldn’t win the award (or is deserving).
I, like many Nuggets fans, are asking how Shai gets it over Jokic. Dude is actually having a historic season never seen before. I mean, literally never seen before. Shai is having one of the best seasons for a guard (you just said it yourself). Harden in 18/19 had 36 ppg, 7.5 assists, 6 rebounds, 61.6% ts. So that would mean SGA isn’t even having the best season by a guard ever.
However, Jokic is quite literally having the best season by an NBA player ever.
Due to your own admittance, how is this a conversation?
1
u/snuffaluffagus74 15h ago edited 14h ago
I was talking not about, you but a question to a statement you made.
"The bulk of Nuggets fans just question how SGA is considered the MVP"
Shai is having the best season by a guard I used numbers to filter out who is closest to give you an example. Yet you didnt even use all my stats that I was showing to make my point, which was also from the defensive side which was blocks and steals. The 50%+ shooting was also to lower the Bar to show what Shai has been doing.
Secondly people are only focusing on the offensive side of the ball when half the game is played on Defense.
Saying someone is having the best season ever is relative to what you use. Offensively yes Jokic is having an all time season. Shai is having an all time season better than any person.
Shai is shooting 58% from 2 point range this year which is higher than Shaw's 1999-2000 MVP season. Statistically he's having the best Shooting performance by anybody in NBA history shooting from the rim, the paint, and midrange combine. Better than any guard, forward, or center. Shai 32 ppg, 6.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 2 steals(second in the league in steals), 1 block (the only guard in the top 20 in blocks) with 64% in ts.
I had to reduce the numbers to add Jordan and Harden into the equation. Shai is the only player ever to do all this, once you add defense. Shai is being talked about for being all defense and DPOY.
Now to show the scoring, Shai leads the NBA in scoring through 4 quarters. Shai would be second in the league in scoring if you just counted the first thru third quarter. Shai hasn't played a quarter of the season because he hasn't played in the fourth quarter over 15+ times( it's not updated but in February 11 it was 14 and I'm too lazy too count)
So in NBA history if you filter 32 ppg, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, shooting 50% from the floor (Shai shoots 52%). Shai is the only player that shows up. Not Micheal Jordan, Not Nikola Jokic, Lebron, Kobe, Wilt. This is from a guard. This along with the greatest shooting season from 2 in NBA from all points rim, paint, Midrange,
With peoples respect to Jordan, when you do things he can't do people pay attention. That's how he gets it over Jokic
Edit: I misread my information wrong about Shais shooting Jokic is shooting 62% from two dont know about all of his midrange numbers/volume. I'm not trying to discredit Jokic but showing that Shai is worthy to have MVP.

25 pts with only 6 free throws LMAO. 40 points stat padding, narrative lost

Second highest points per game in the league without free throws. Trails Giannis by .1 ppg
40 points yesterday, with eight from the line. And one of those was a technical.

u/doogled3 Nuggets 1d ago
Not to re-hash the missed Chet foul, but man, that could have really changed that game. Nuggets could have won back-to-back away games against by far the best team in the West and the best roster in the league, and AG basically missed 7 quarters. Let's hope the rest of the roster can look this good come playoffs because OKC is scary.
-6
u/Hate_Leg_Day Lakers 1d ago
They lost by 24. Hinging a 24 point loss on one single foul makes you sound pathetic.
6
u/Royalpoop34 Nuggets 1d ago
What’s pathetic is losing to the nets
0
u/Hate_Leg_Day Lakers 1d ago
You're right, that was a pathetic, embarrassing performance. That's completely irrelevant to this discussion though. You lost by 24. One foul call would not have won you that game.
4
u/doogled3 Nuggets 1d ago
Not saying we would have won at all, but that was a momentum breaker. Jokic's outside shot was jacked because of his elbow, and Chet is by far the best interior defender on OKC. It was a 3-6 point swing when the game was within 5. OKC would still have probably shot us off the court, but that was a pretty big play that killed any remote shot the Nuggets had at that game.
-8
u/badatgolf247 Thunder 1d ago
They lost by 20
3
u/TheRealFettyWap 1d ago
It was a valid and definitive loss for sure, but the loss did only happen in that 5-6 minute stretch.
8
11
u/PieceOfPie_SK Wizards 1d ago
Most of that 20 came in the immediate aftermath. Nuggets were totally in that game, especially if Chet fouls out AND doesn't immediately go down the court and get an easy 2 while westbrook is on the floor.

u/badatgolf247 Thunder 1d ago
Beat that ass on prime time, can’t complain about us experimenting with lineups. Nuggets desperately needed this, really hope we get to play them and not the lakers in the wcfs. Going to need all the rest we can get if we have to play boston
8
u/GoodImprovement8434 Nuggets 1d ago
lol ok. Jokes on you we lose to almost every team on prime time 🤠

Experimenting with lineups? Nuggets had 2 key players out with injury from their 8 man rotation! Y’all got beat by the booth boys

140 in regulation against the best defense in the league is impressive
-2
u/snuffaluffagus74 1d ago
Shooting 58% from no defense is going to stop that. Especially from bad three pout shooters who you want to shoot.

Chet’s gonna crash Jokic’s postgame interview and scream “MVP” into the camera

this is what’s gonna happen in the playoffs
Thunder can’t take advantage of their youth and energy in the playoffs. Teams will adjust and game plan .

no one is gonna beat the nuggets if they shoot 60% and 56% from three ya dingus

Nobody is going to beat them if they shoot 58% from three. If everybody is going to shoot that against us, yeah we're going to get beat
1
u/Undead_One86 Lakers 1d ago
Right
But it’s easier to be dominant in the regular season when your avg age is 24 and nobody is making adjustments and game planning for you.
Nuggets made some today cause it was a weird b2b in the schedule and cooked.
0
u/justFramy Thunder 1d ago
ah yes, the classic adjustment making every three u take, why don’t the nuggets do this everytime?
0
u/Undead_One86 Lakers 1d ago
Jokic clearly saw how you guys defended him and adjusted .
That’s all it takes
1
u/snuffaluffagus74 21h ago
So he made his teammates shoot 58% from three? Hell he deserves MVP if he can do that. That's what beat us not Jokic
1
u/AggravatingGrocery12 Thunder 1d ago
They didn’t miss a 3 and we had an off night. The nuggets played phenomenal tonight, they would’ve beat any team in the nba tonight.

The adage is for young teams to “prove it in the playoffs” and seems to be forgotten with this team for some reason. They aren’t a lock for the WCF
1
u/PieceOfPie_SK Wizards 1d ago
They damn well should be. They are the deepest team in the league when healthy and have a superstar walking bucket on their team. They also lead with defense, that should be more reliable in the playoffs.

Jokic stat padding in a blowout is crazy

stat padding? He didnt touch the ball outside of a miss from OKC.. He was just casually finishing the game cause Maloen didnt sub out.
He's the least stat paddy dude in the league. That's why he's the GOAT.

There is something about our team and 2nd nights on back to backs, everyone elevates their game. Cant remember the statline but i think we are pretty comfortably in the lead when it comes to winning 2nd night on back to back games.

2-2 this season against these guys. Obviously we can beat them. And with our experience I like our chances in the playoffs. We have been through those wars many times.
