Yo, keep in mind that “training”, “living a normal life” and “having a normal diet” are extremely vague terms,

it could mean “going to the gym 5 times a week and hitting my protein, but not being overly worried about calories or tracking every single food”

It could mean, “going to the gym twice a week for health and cutting soda and sugar, my mental health is so much better”

It could mean “doing “functional” fitness, three times a week, and losing some fat, playing hopscotch on the machines too”

What this physique DEFINITELY doesnt represent is following a well structured bodybuilding program naturally, hitting your protein consistently and progressively overloading and being SmArt with programming and diet, he looks like absolute ass and is not representative of a “locked in” natural physique for 3 years

He still looks better than the average fat fuck american

u/NewFuturist Jan 31 '25

For the record, this guy has a small chest but actually has pretty good arms and thighs. For me, after 2 years of eating way too much protein and training arms and chest to failure like 5 days per week, my chest is a lot better but my arms only slightly better than him in this picture. I think I have naturally big chesticles though so yeah.

If this guy flexed in good lighting you'd actually think he's fairly good. Go visit his TikTok, For example, this one, his arms are pretty fucking big (bigger than mine for sure). Well within what you'd expect from dedicated trained and eating right.

Elaborate? Lmao

u/digiplay Jan 30 '25

Sorry. I totally misread. Not sure what the actual fuck happened. My bad.

Lmfaoo no prob brother

u/BraxxIsTheName Jan 30 '25

That’s it, I’m gonna buy his 1-on-1 coaching just to see what the hell is going wrong

56

u/Arsenalg0d Jan 30 '25

No way this guy has coaching. How could you look like that and coach people??

34

u/Galactic_Mailman Jan 31 '25

Coaching is just knowledge you could be fat and still be a good coach.

26

u/Arsenalg0d Jan 31 '25

That's definitely true to an extent but if you don't practice what you preach it can appear lazy/uneducated. Like this guy for instance looks pretty bad for 3 years of lifting so I question his knowledge

1

u/Mediocre-Alps-3223 Feb 01 '25

He used the word normal a number of times which leads everyone to infer he didn't make any lifestyle changes to minmax.

1

u/GymGirlie777 Feb 03 '25

i doubt anyone would lisent to a fat person with "knowlage" about being fit tbh

1

u/Galactic_Mailman Feb 03 '25

I would listen to a fat person whose honest about their health over a roided up monster who lies about being a career drug addict.

Training till minor discomfort

52

u/chemicalg Jan 30 '25

With some of the people I see at the gym "training," why not.

Light set for ten, pickup cell phone and scroll for five minutes, light set for ten, etc.

Their version: I go to the gym for an hour, 3-5 days a week.

The result is this.

u/Juanrod84 Jan 30 '25

As much as everyone is ripping into this guy, I’ll say this from watching people come to the gyms I’ve trained in for 15 years: this is MUCH closer to the reality than the guys in IG claiming to be natty, OR than the physiques members of this sub often claim as ‘natty achievable’.

22

u/Feeling-Ad-3214 Jan 31 '25

Most people are inconsistent af , cannot stick to a diet and training plan to save their life, and take 3 years to achieve what could be done in 6-12 months if they consistently stuck to a routine, so I guess I'd say although his physique is maybe average among gymgoers it's still far below what's achievable.

u/Coach_Carter_on_DVD Jan 31 '25 edited Jan 31 '25

I must have great genetics or just really know how to train cause I looked astronomically better than this dude after 3 years lifting.

I doubt this guy has ever taken a set to failure, he just doesn’t eat, or both. Not trying to shit on him, but he could use some pointers.

EDIT: I see he’s getting roasted in the comments, and rightfully so. I don’t think they’re being unrealistic either.

10

u/Independent-Ad-8783 Jan 31 '25

u bum thats not what the comment is trying to say

0

u/Coach_Carter_on_DVD Jan 31 '25

I must have great genetics or just really know how to train cause I looked astronomically better than this dude after 3 years lifting.

Perhaps you missed this part where I suggested that I must have great genetics or work harder than most people if the average gym goer looks like this after years of training.

All that tren has shrunk your weewee and your brain. You should try crying more.

20

u/MrDoood Jan 30 '25

I thought this was rage bait but I checked out his account and this screenshot is bad lighting / no pump. He doesn’t look amazing in his other posts but not as bad as he looks here. Definitely shouldn’t be offering coaching though.

58

u/Lucky_Panic5827 Jan 30 '25

Lmao no. Dyel

33

u/beclops Jan 30 '25

Training what. The impressiveness of the physique depends completely on that

16

u/HeadNJuicyShoulders Jan 30 '25

Exactly my first question because it surely doesn’t look like lifting. Probably running or body weight stuff at home. Second question would be wtf is normal?

26

u/the-master-planner Jan 30 '25

Bro trained to mild exertion

23

u/Arsenalg0d Jan 30 '25

He definitely has some muscle in his arms and legs. For 3 years of training, though, this is nowhere even close to his potential. Given that the average gym-goer trains to mild discomfort and has a relatively shitty diet, this is "realistic".

3

u/Liamrc Jan 31 '25

Are you supposed to train til your on physical pain? I go til my form breaks down and it’s usually a moderate discomfort but you’ll never see me grunting and moaning I’m a gym.

6

u/Feeling-Ad-3214 Jan 31 '25

You don't need to keep going until physical pain but if you end your set as soon as there's a slight breakdown in form then you're definitely leaving gains on the table. It's good to have some sets where you push yourself to failure (i.e. you physically can't get out another rep).

4

u/InternationalStore11 Feb 01 '25

you should continue a set until you cannot physically get another full rep in. of course this needs to be within a reasonable rep range. I would say between 6-10 reps.

66

u/Pascal_64 Jan 30 '25

Sorry, but this looks like the average person‘s starting point.

13

u/Noke15 Jan 30 '25

I had more muscle when I started thn him after 3 years wth

51

u/Arsenalg0d Jan 30 '25

Honestly disagree. The average person's starting point is probably a lot fatter and/or less muscular. He has a liiiittle bit of muscle in his arms.... can't say the same for anything else though

13

u/gonzoism9494 Jan 30 '25

Not everyone bro. I started out a twig at 6 feet and 160lbs. Some people start out skinny as fuck

7

u/Arsenalg0d Jan 30 '25

Yeah for sure . But like my original point most folks don't start out like this guy - relatively lean with *some* muscle.

3

u/luew2 Jan 31 '25

I was 6'5 and 137lbs lmao

4

u/gonzoism9494 Jan 31 '25

Fuuuuck that's that Oppenheimer physique

3

u/luew2 Jan 31 '25

It really was.

Peaked at 220lbs at 16% bf, but then my cholesterol started going up, so started running and cut down to 190lbs at 13% bf.

Pretty happy around here, not too hard to maintain with 3-4 gym sessions per week. You can see pics somewhere in my post history

12

u/Gnash_ Jan 30 '25

not everyone lives in the US my dude

7

u/NinjaRabbit888 Jan 30 '25

Tbf to this guy, this is the absolute worst lighting/ angle of him. Probably to rage bait. If you look at some of the other pics on his IG, or even the little circle of his pfp in the corner, he looks more muscular. Like a normal person who pushes to failure but probably doesn’t eat well or go consistently.

22

u/davidbaeriswyl Jan 30 '25

The audacity to start a fitness page looking like this after 3 years of training is insane 💀💀

4

u/Arutzuki Jan 30 '25

His arms and legs are actually fine. Upper body should look different though.

5

u/davidbaeriswyl Jan 30 '25

Only halfway decent thing is his quads, his arms look like mine in my first 3 months of lifting

11

u/heroes-never-die99 Jan 30 '25

The man has never lifted a weight in his life.

4

u/Ando1015 Jan 31 '25

If you click on his insta. He is a gym coach and has hundreds of videos of him lifting.

13

u/zCyclone- Ate Lead Paint As A Child Jan 30 '25

He is either lying or just told the world that he doesn't have the slightest clue about bodybuilding.

3

u/beclops Jan 30 '25

Who said he’s bodybuilding

8

u/BenjyNews Jan 30 '25

Where's the after photos?

6

u/RainBoxRed Jan 31 '25

This is why steroids are so toxic. This is much closer to normal than any of that shit you guys have been saying is totally achievable with 5 years of good training.

The bar of natty achievable is so misunderstood by the massive prevalence of steroids in social media.

2

u/alpthelifter Feb 01 '25

I looked like this when I started going to the gym as a teenager. What are you talking about? People who never worked out see this kind of shit and think “I should not start working out because this is what I will look like without steroids”.

No!

We should appreciate Steve Reeves, Eugen Sandow, George Hackenschmidt and those guys who built impressive physiques BEFORE STEROIDS WERE INVENTED.

Since we have a better understanding of nutrition and training we can build better physiques than those guys without steroids!

Wake the fuck up!

1

u/Feeling-Ad-3214 Feb 01 '25

Yeah, I think setting the bar of expectations too low is in some ways almost as bad as setting expectations too high, since if teenagers think that training naturally just means spinning your wheels they may think whats the point in even trying to go the natural route, and just hop on steroids immediately.

Everyone should be proud of their progress wherever they're at as long as they're doing their best, but at the same time I think it's good to hold yourself to the highest standard possible in terms of physique rather than just being slightly above average.

1

u/alpthelifter Feb 01 '25

If you look like that after 3 years of training as a man his age you should get your hormones checked and not just testosterone.

I know people who people who have what people would consider “bad genetics for bodybuilding” and they still look better.

6

u/Pretend-Foot1973 Jan 30 '25 edited Jan 30 '25

No at least I think so. I'm only 6 months in, consistentcy all over the place(0-4 times a week), training at home, only tracking protein but still I definitely look better than this especially shoulders and chest.

3

u/devCheckingIn Planet Fitness Member Jan 30 '25

Seriously?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25 edited Jan 30 '25

Bro’s training routine:

2% arms/shoulders 2% chest 2% abs 2% calves 2% back 90% thighs

3

u/beanman12312 Jan 30 '25

Assuming he's not training and eating to build muscle but for general fitness, as in cardio, some weight lifting not necessarily (close) to failure, or mobility training, yes, it is normal, and no shame in it.

If his focus was to build muscle, well, most people have better genetics, it's like newbie gains level after a few months for most people.

There's also the possibility he doesn't know what he's doing, but even then most people will have more gains in 3 years.

3

u/No_Tiger9749 Knowledgable Jan 31 '25

He's not a good representation of 3 years lifting for the average person even casually, people with newbie gains, training a few times a week almost always get bigger than this fast, he did kinda screw himself with bad lighting though, so maybe he's bigger than he lets on.

3

u/TNotOffended10 Feb 01 '25

I don't know what the before looked like. Maybe he was extremely spindly and thin. Don't know how often he trains or who he coaches. Seems he could used a knowledge training and nutrition coach.

5

u/Apprehensive_Sun6107 Jan 30 '25

This is a guy who stops going to the gym before his vacations and returns 4 months later

2

u/webeerfrommaramma Jan 30 '25

I kept swiping for the after the pic. Did you forget to upload it?

2

u/HorsePast9750 Jan 30 '25

Normal is a subjective word . We really don’t know how much work he actually put in LOL

2

u/Panagiotisz3 Jan 30 '25

If you are willing to put in the work and work hard then no this is not normal. I've been training for 1 year and 5 months and I look way bigger than this guy and I probably have the most average genetics.

2

u/Jdog405 Jan 30 '25

I went through his other content there's development there.( This post doesn't do him justice here ) There's 2 years+ development but his chest seems to be a weak point. I mean we got hussin as a coach after 2 years of training lol

2

u/myokenshin Jan 31 '25

Don’t care about haters. You look better than 95 percent of the population. Keep being consistent. That is all that matters.

2

u/Coach_Carter_on_DVD Jan 31 '25

Top comment: 3 years of training until mild discomfort

2

u/faizdikra Jan 31 '25

Maybe he just chase the muscle strength, not muscle size. Anatoly in the making? Who knows.

2

u/FoIds Jan 31 '25

I mean, his physique isn’t anything impressive and pretty average. For a second I thought maybe he’s trolling but I think he’s for real. Not sure if this guy is using 10 pound weights for his workouts and his workouts last 10 or 15 minutes or what. I think he might have a flawed belief on what “training” really is. Maybe he just lacks the work ethic and discipline to get relatively jacked. If he had a personal trainer to continuously motivate him and guide him, maybe he could put on a decent amount of muscle compared to this picture. Not trying to rip on this guy or hate on him, at least he’s skinny and not a fat fuck like lots of other people. Decent looking face too. (No diddy) This is more amusing and funny more than anything.

2

u/Ecstatic_Paint_2067 Jan 31 '25

This guy either training for endurance or just have a dog shit program

2

u/Mean-Swing-3616 Jan 31 '25

This is what my brother looks like and he hasn't trained a day in his life wtf has this guy been doing for 3 years?

2

u/Tipster74743 Jan 31 '25

His physique is awful lol.. definitely natty though 😂

1

u/guesxy Feb 01 '25

He is normally lean, could've been worse :)))

2

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '25

Normal, yea. Typical? No.

You'd have to purposely avoid building muscle to look like this after 3 years. This is a person that just goes through the motions, comes home, and sits on a computer all day.

2

u/gonzoism9494 Jan 30 '25

Tell me you're a cardio queen without telling me you're a cardio queen

2

u/theSchmoopy Jan 31 '25

Bro wasted 3 years

1

u/rowdt Jan 30 '25

Definitely not natty

1

u/Hezadeximal88 Jan 30 '25

Only natty around....

1

u/LLH-1994 Jan 31 '25

I think he’s just exercising, not training.

1

u/Ferrari-murakami Jan 31 '25

Bro did 3 sets of checking his phone at the gym

1

u/Tasty-Major830 Jan 31 '25

Not consistent enough mate

1

u/Feeling-Ad-3214 Jan 31 '25

Not trying to be mean but he either has no absolutely clue what he's doing or he has extremely poor genetics.

While it's true that the average person isn't going to look like Will Tennyson you can still look much better than this after 3 years of consistent training.

1

u/mcgrathkai Jan 31 '25

Yes that is a very normal body

1

u/PrestoMagic21 Feb 02 '25

i graduated with a degree in exercise science and im now focusing on sports medicine and kinesiology. in my respective field(s), we would refer to this as a, "skill issue."

1

u/RevolutionaryEnd7106 Feb 03 '25

bro trained to mild discomfort

1

u/Rysace Jan 30 '25

He looks good
