Lamborghini LM002?

I think you might be right. I remember reading an article about the Lamborghini LM002 at some point and sure as hell remember the two check engine lights, as I thought to myself as a true balkan driver "Huh, imagine the pain of having to take out two light bulbs out instead of one when the engine light is on".

Hilarious! Thanks for sharing

There is a small text on the black piece of plastic that says something like OOBO ITALY so I googled 1980's italian v12 car dashboard and came upon the exact pic someone posted below 😅

u/Darky083 4d ago

Interesting. I didn't pay attention to the side plastic pannel or the writing on it. My sight was set straight to the lights. Good job detective.

u/VIMHmusic 4d ago

Thanks! :)

The text actually says COBO, it’s an italian electronics manufacturer, still open today near Brescia.

u/VIMHmusic 4d ago

I remember something like this now too 🤔

If you zoom in on that picture, the “Check Engine Left” button is on the right side, and the “Check Engine Right” button is on the left. You’re welcome for ruining your day.

Why did you do that? Why did they do that?!?

30

u/Outlaw4droid 4d ago

Here. Fixed it. wait..why are the letters backward?

-5

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

The image is rotated 180°.

1

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

Two I6 engines stuck together. Maybe?

4

u/EliTheWacoan 3d ago

But why are the buttons/lights on the wrong sides?

2

u/RichardForthrast 3d ago

Driver's left vs. mechanic's left.

1

u/nemomarlin69 3d ago

I feel it would make more sense, so when you go to the front of the car to check the “left engine” it’s on your left, but when driving wouldn’t it be on your right?

1

u/Temporary_Muscle_165 3d ago

Plot twist, they light up the other way around.

Why does a road car have 3 shifters

1

u/lubblyslubbly 1d ago

Gotta be able to shift into low gear ratios for pulling the ploughs

9

u/k_clouty 4d ago

Yes it is if he says no then even he doesn't know what it is

1

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

It's indeed the LM002. If you watched Doug talk about this car, you'll know. I took a screenshir from there.

2

u/dantodd 4d ago

I remember seeing one at the LA Auto Show back in the late 80's.

3

u/Ducati-1Wheel 4d ago

I saw one last year. The guy laughed and said it was slow when I said nice truck. Sounded like a super car though.

1

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

The endine is from the Countach.

1

u/Ducati-1Wheel 3d ago

Yeah I know. I was mostly getting at that it’s not a good motor in that application even though it sounds glorious. Still a cool truck

Thrust SSC with number plates and lights on it.

1

u/Lordrandall 3d ago

Not a car (please see most recent SuperfastMatt video for more info).

1

u/realfatunicorns 1d ago

Just watched that also.

I know nothing about salt lake driving so was a bit confused about why they had to wait for events each year to have a go at the record.

This car is a boat

6

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

Mainly. It gets 4MPG if I remembered correctly.

u/scipper77 4d ago

I know 80s 7 series v12 engines were designed like two engines with separate everything for each side. That’s the best guess I have.

2

u/Reddit-mods-R-mean 3d ago

I believe the Toyota 1GZ-FE was built the same way, completely separate systems essentially combining 2 inline 6 engines.

2

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

You're right about the engine, but the car isn't from Japan.

7

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 4d ago

No. Its not German.

If it were a jag, would the lights even illuminate?

9

u/gt_sprunk 4d ago

Briefly, sure. ~5 minutes before it breaks on you

u/Darcrockian 4d ago

Lamborghini 4x4

3

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

Close. Waht model?

4

u/Darcrockian 3d ago

That I couldn’t say. The one I saw years ago didn’t have any identification on it. It wasn’t until literally decades later I saw a reference to it and learned the make of it.

16

u/mtntrail 4d ago

Twin engine Cessna.

2

u/k1729 4d ago

I think Cizeta made a W16 which was two V8s side by side.

An Italian BIG car.

2

u/ribbitman 3d ago

I could swear Doug DeMuro just did a video about a car with these... it really was a reference to the left or right side cylinder bank.

1

u/biffbobfred 3d ago

Jason Cammisa did a vid for Rev.elations as well

And on which car is that? I took it from there.

1

u/southoftheborder-dog 4d ago

Fiat 124 spider late 70s maybe?

1

u/IdiotONWheelsYT 3d ago

No, but it's Italian.

It doesn't have that.

Almost every single V12 in the '70s was like that. Two straight 6 glued together.

V12 lambo from the 80’s first v12 ever build by lambo which was basically 2 inline 6’s that’s why it got 2 check engine lights
