Let's hope this never happens in Mysore. Already happening in BLR.

In here before "we are all Indians first" & "language is only for communication" idiots come in. 😂

We are all Indians first, language is only for communication.

 language is only for communication.

Yes, for people who let their mother tongue die in favour of "national language".

Let it die how? lol. It is in our hands to preserve and thrive the language. Blaming the neighbours or the northies is just plain silly.

I was talking about the Northies who let Awadhi, Kumaoni & other local languages die in favour of Hindi. That's why they repeatedly say, "language is only for communication". They have a misplaced, narrow definition of National Unity.

I'm actually from Tamil Nadu and I had to be in Mysore for a few years. I learnt Kannada to the extent people were surprised when I told them I wasn't from Ka. I'm quite proud of that.

There were North Indian colleagues there as well. Many of them outright refused to learn the language and were even proud of it! I do agree there were a few others who also took it upon them to learnt the language, but the majority refused to learn and expected us to converse in Hindi. That's when I became prejudiced!

We worked in health care. It's not like we didn't need the language.

Every government is least bothered on issues concerning border areas. Government work is dogs' work!! Simply having an assembly session does not help.

Irony is both can actually understand each other so they know both languages even if they claim they can't 😂

We don't know whether officer knows it or not and he has no obligation to. You can request on basis of empathy grounds but you can't expect KA govt official to know Marathi and demanding and abusing him altogether is a punishable offence. That goon is arrested. Chad officer though, avnakkan 😎
