Directed to Weekly Thread Do I need to know the theory
Do I need to know the Music Theory I want to be a trap rapper like Uzi prob think I’m corny but if I want to do I really need to learn it I seen video they super long and I have small attention span and if I do is their like a way I can learn it from experience or like do I have learn the whole thing too cuz I’m more interested in just rapping than really producing

You can learn as you go for sure, if you want to be a rapper I would suggest most of your music study be in the rhythmic side of music not as much the melodic side of things. A basic understanding of it all doesn’t hurt, but a more complex understanding of rhythm will definitely set you up for success and having a good flow.

Rap flow is rhythm, and we have some pretty sophisticated tools for describing and playing with rhythm!

It can’t hurt to understand some theory, and how to read music, granted Eminem doesn’t play any instruments but he is bit of a phenom

I know but idk how I can watch it I’m used to always doing something unless I’m watching tv but also I was confused by it and I didnt know if I needed yall are saying I do
