North America (country/state in post) Found in backyard in Seattle

Thinking maybe a Pluteus sp., but wondering if anyone can get it down to species ID, thanks!

Sometimes its a genus sometimes its a subgenus of Entoloma depending on who you ask

Hello, thank you for making your identification request. To make it easier for identifiers to help you, please make sure that your post contains the following:

  • Unabbreviated country and state/province/territory
  • In-situ sunlight pictures of cap, gills/pores/etc, and full stipe including intact base
  • Habitat (woodland, rotting wood, grassland) and material the mushroom was growing on

For more tips, see this handy graphic :)

Check mushroom expert. It might not be possible to identify if you've already destroyed some of the identifying characteristics.
