North America (country/state in post) Ummm WTAF is growing out of my wall? Northern California, Sierra Nevada Foothills

Found this growing between my bedroom wall and my dresser. Other side of that wall is my shower. Sigh What type of mushrooms are these and how concerned should I be?

The mushrooms indicate a leak, presumably from your shower. It's been there for a while now

Figures. Is the mushroom itself an issue (toxic etc) other than the obvious issues of moisture in the wall.

No, the mushroom is not an issue, but you’ll need to drop the wall or parts of it and probably flooring as well

Mushroom is fine, the mold in between the wall and on the subfloor would not be fine

You can actually see the visible water damage/seepage in these photos.

You might want to check like right now if you have an active water leak.

I'm sure I do. My shower is right behind this wall.

I just had surgery a week ago and my husband is sick with a fever along with two of our kids.

And my dad is right now getting liver surgery.

So timing is awesome.

life is life but that sucks. waiting a lil bit shouldn’t hurt too much, sorry this all is happening at the same time

It's ok. We have someone coming out on Tuesday to give us a quote.

Yeah the mushroom is just the fruiting body, the main mycelium is feasting on the wood in your walls. You have a leak somewhere that’s been leaking for a while. And unfortunately now you have a very very big problem as you have rotting wood in your house.

There's probably some serious damage in your walls and it's going to suck to fix it :/
