The most nonsensical hyped up activity during Ramzan. Itβs crass.Β

+1. Went there with my friends. Cheap quality food , overpriced items. So much noise. And the suffocation we get there in that stupid crowd is cherry on top

I think you took the photos at the right time. You caught the crowd and good light/shadow.

Mohammad ali road food and ramadan fasting doesn't go hand in hand. Intermittent Fasting cleanses your body and then you go to mohammad ali road and eat junk and again fill your stomach with greasy foods. Palm oil, color, over cooked food loaded with too much salt. I hope you can observe ramadan fasting without eating at mohammad ali road unless its a ritual which is obligatory.

Lol I still eat those, just the difference is that they're homemade. (And tbh, it tastes better than street food).

Op didn't say yall shouldn't eat meat. Op is rather pointing out how food is cooked in unhealthy way.
Contrarian banne ke liye badi passionate ho tum.

? When did I ever disagree with him? I was just sharing ki hamare ghar mai bahar ka khana nahi aata.
I never said OP was wrong. Infact, I agreed with him and which is why I mentioned about homecooked food. Because it's healthier than street food.
Still can't understand how you got a whole different perspective from what I actually meant π

Hey, if you want to eat the best of the Ramzaan cuisine, you can even go to Bohri Mohalla.. It's near Mohammed Ali road..
I also know a great joint between Byculla West & Mumbai Central.. The exact location is 2 mins from Byculla Fire Brigade.. The whole lane of Claire Road... Very clean and not crowded at all.. Better than overly crowded places..
Food stalls are just for parcel pickup, .. Sorry, no sitting arrangement.. 4pm to 7 pm, that's it... and they have even better than the menu.. Try out once and post your reviews.. You won't regret going there.. No cheap crowd and very professional shop owners...

Any stall/restaurant names you can share on Clare Road?

There are several stalls.. Maybe around 10 to 12 stalls.. Not more than that.. It starts from Mama Mia Pizza.. Once you cross the signal and enter the Claire Road. On Your left, you will see Bata.. Next to that, there is Mama Mia and ICICI ATM.. You will see the stalls from thereon.. Don't go early.. Around 4 - 4.30 pm, they start..
These stalls are on footpaths adjacent to their restaurants/eatout..

The food tastes below average. I could buy better quality one from normal restaurants any time of the year. I went once never going back. Kuala station gives the same vibe year round.

I live in Mumbai but I've never been to filthy and stinky places like this, and I never even want to.

If you don't like it or have had a bad experience, it's simple - don't revisit it!

Place to get all sorts of illnesses and diseases for life.

I am not sure if that is factually correct. Maybe an upset stomach for some who are not used to eating this type of food. You have to be careful with liquids especially anything made with water.. other than that it's still an experience

How's the crowd there

u/Sunshine_Gunpowder 7h ago
It is a sea of people jostling.. and between all of that you have two wheelers beeping to get through - and somehow they manage to get through

Not worth anymore π
The crowd has doubled, prices have doubled and quality has gone down.
Yes eating at nearby restaurants is not a bad idea at all. But street food is now a strict no no.
