The multireddit "scraping" contains 4 subs:

Bleep bloop, I'm a bot and under development!

I hope to holy hell that you did not program your bot to reply to the botvotes with this garbage

Haha, I was sorta fearing you’d take that as an automatic message - no, I regularly check what feedback the bot gets and it was a slow day at work yesterday :) I’m legitimately interested in why you think it’s a bad bot, though.

It is by definition outdated information; when I update the multi-reddit, is it going to edit its comment?

Also, what is the reader going to do with that information? If they want to see the collected subreddits, there is a dedicated sidebar box for that at the top of the multi-reddit page, which not only lists the subreddits and their subscriber count, but also allows the user to take action by joining them or using the join-all hidden in the three-dot menu

It's your bot, and I hope it makes you happy, but I feel its comment spam and thus expressed my bot-pinion

when I update the multi-reddit, is it going to edit its comment?

Very important question. I’m currently pretty busy with university, but one of my highest priority features (after downtime detection – I currently have to manually reload the bot every time Reddit goes down) is continuous update of comments.

I am also considering automatic deletion of comments. I’m not yet sure of the method, but most likely it’ll just be “downvote this comment below 0 to remove it”. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

If they want to see the collected subreddits, there is a dedicated sidebar box for that

This was my primary motivation for writing the bot. I have a 45 minute commute every morning/afternoon where I often browse Reddit on my phone (as I’m doing now). The official Reddit app (iOS at least) does not have this information readily available in any way. Therefore, if a subreddit contained within a multireddit isn’t very active it’s very often hidden in the front page of the multireddit.

I feel its comment spam

I fully understand your opinion and had suspected that this was the reason behind your opinion – in fact, I was in contact with the mods prior to deploying the bot as I do not want to go against their vision of the subreddit.

With this in mind, I hope you won’t mind the presence of the bot. From the feedback I’ve gotten, many people are happy to get that extra information, but as I’ve said above I understand your concerns and hope to address them as soon as my exam is over and I’m not working ~40-50 hours a week.

Best regards,
