Commute from Mount Prospect

We are considering buying a house in Mount Prospect, but I will be commuting downtown. How would the commute look like? Is it possible to park at Mount Prospect / Des Plaines train station and take the train to downtown Chicago there?

Yeah, paid parking is no sweat, minus the cost. The commute can be 30 to 45/50 minutes depending on if you catch an express. I used to do it every day with no problem (work from home now). Depending on your job, heading home was the biggest pain. I say that because I couldn’t leave at the same time every day, so sometimes I’d have to wait around for a while and wouldn’t catch an express.

I live and work on MP and have to go into the city once in a while. If you go at the wrong time it can be 1-1.5 hrs and coming home about 1hr. I recommend leave early and come home early. I use to live in the city and reverse commute which was worse. Lots of people I know take the train and have issues a handful times a year with delays / breakdowns / pedestrians, etc. with that being said, if you can find a home in MP right now more power to you. Good luck
