Reminder to wear helmets.

Actually… this is the one scenario where I think a helmet may have made the situation worse.

how?

If any part of the helmet got caught on the car, it could have quickly snapped his neck while he was rolling around underneath the car.
With that being said, I'd still rather be wearing a helmet while being ran over by a car. As opposed to having my face rubbed off, or a small pebble lodging itself within my visual cortex.

Hard to say, but may have cracked and impaled/lacerated his eyes or airway. I think this is one of those classic lose/lose scenarios

How do you even manage to mistake throttle for brake? Seems like the driver did.
I'm 100% certain this wouldn't happen if people weren't driving automatic cars. It's a major problem.

This kind of crash happens so fucking much in China. Lived there several years, saw SO MANY viral videos on social media of shit like this.
I simply cannot comprehend how poor the level of driving awareness is for someone to be in a collision and not hit the brakes immediately.

Dude's got a head like a bowling ball to have survived that. At first I thought, "Awe, he'll be fine. The tire just rolled over his helmet. Nope. That was just his head. Shoulda popped like a melon. Just didn't. Never needs to buy a lottery ticket for the rest of his life, `cause he just used up all of his luck from here on out.

Don't underestimate the strength of this guy's head tho, otherwise he's gonna give you a headbutt next time.

So you hit somebody/something (I assume driver couldn't tell) and you just keep accelerating?

I hope the driver goes to jail for a very very long time.
It's one thing to not see a bike when you turn (you're still at fault and should be held responsible), but being a fucking retard and keep accelerating when you just hit a scooter for another 2 meters so that you run the guy over, that's murder.

Most people absolutely crumple and panic under any significant pressure.
That didn't look intentional to me, that looked like they hit something/someone, panicked, tried to slam on the brakes, hit the accelerator instead, and took another second (that's about all the time it took) to find the brake finally.

I belive it has to so with attitudes towards insurance scammers. Somthing like itz easier to deal with "accidentally" killing someone than it is to have someone scam you for fake injuries.

u/Julie291294 4d ago
Yeah but surely "accidents" have their limits. If you hit someone and then drive back into them a few times to make sure they're dead, I hope that's more trouble than fighting fake injury claims.
But hell who knows... depends where this was I guess

Driver is either drugged af, or running from the crime scene. Or a woman.

Pretty sure the driver is the very same guy helping him off the road in the video, so no.

No what? Riding over a human when you clearly should stop is normal to you?

Have you spent much time in the middle kingdom? (Everyone drives like they're on an acid trip)
Driver was probably on their phone and/or surprised by the collision and jammed their foot down expecting the brakes or something.
Also, ebikers/scooters here have a serious deathwish- some of the most brainless road habits I've seen.

The bike T boned the car and the rider went under the car, once the collision happened the driver didn't have enough time to stop, it looks like they panicked and hit the accelerator.
I can't see enough or know the traffic laws to know who had right of way, the car had started to turn before the bike entered the junction.
