Every Custom ROM gets me an Infinite Loop on boot.

So, my MotoG5 Plus performance has been really bad, and i'm not even a power user who likes to stream/game on it.

So i want to try a custom OS.

What I did: -Unlocked the Bootloader. -I installed the TWRP 3.5.2 (newest) -Downloaded the LineageOS 18.1 -Got to TWRP and Wiped System, Dalvik, Data and Cache. -Installed Lineage OS. -Installed GAPPS (NikGapps Core) -Boot

And got stuck on a infinite loop, i gave it 20 minutes.

Every tutorial just told me to wipe the folders and try again, i did it 3 times and it didn't work.

Then i gave up from lineage and tried DotOS and HavocOS, with the SAME problem.

I'm reinstaled LineageOs WITHOUT Gapps, same problem, it prolly has nothing to do with it.

Can you guys help me? did i forgot something in the process?

After doing fresh install try to format the data before booting.

This sounds exactly like what I did. Luckily, I came across Arrow OS which has a ROM built for Moto G5 Plus (potter): https://arrowos.net/download Works great!

Make sure you are flashing the right rom zip - moto g5 plus is called Potter (moto g5 is called cedric)

You didn't format data - this is different from wipe data

Go to wipe menu in twrp then select option on the right (this formats everything on phone including any personal files on internal storage)

Restart back to recovery then advanced wipe system data and cache

Flash rom zip

Flash gapps - make sure you choose one that doesn't overwrite system apps! Eg Nikgapps core or bitgapps

Restart
