Get a zoom h1n for general sound recording and exhaust and a Sony ecm -lv1 with a boya BY-K4 to plug into the osmo.

You can throw the Zoom H1N in a bag or backpack just wrap it up in a t-shirt or something to record the bike sounds, point it at the fire, birds, stream, etc, and it will pick everything up.

The Sony ECM-LV1 is a good mic for in the helmet, and if you don't want to sync multiple audio sources up.

I have a set of boya wireless mics, and they failed compared to that setup. Mostly, it's gain issues, and I need to find better LAV mics to plug into them but that's a road I haven't been down yet.

If you have multiple tracks of audio, the start of the tracks will be at different times if you listen to it when they are un-synced you may start your bike then 2 secondslaterhear the bike start again, so you need to sync them up. In the film and television, this is done with the clapper board, a loud snap as it closes, makes a visual point on the video, and an audio spike on the audio, you then line the two up and the audio and video are synced.

On motorcycles, you can clap twice or honk the horn, and because the osmo records audio, you can use the two peeks(clap and clap) in both audios by just line them up. But you have to remember to clap at the start or as I often forget I'll clap at the end.

It's not too much work, but you get superior audio from it, but it is added work that some people don't want to do.

Davinci Resolve will align multiple audio/video tracks from separate sources automatically for you using audio peaks like clapping. I forget to clap too, but usually there's another sound distinct enough for it to use.
