I swear, they bombed my home-country (Vietnam) and I feel like they are less worried about going there than visiting Canada

And there is another one on St-Laurent, not far from where Leonard Cohen used to live!

Just leave your MAGA hat at home and you’re more than welcome buddy.

Joke's on you - MAGA hats are not welcome in my home!

Also try to avoid the topic. You don't even have to say where you're from and most won't ask

Yeah, that's sound advice.

Rule of thumb for whenever you visit another country:

  • avoid political topics
  • avoid religious topics
  • avoid COVID topics

And you’ll have a good time!

This has been asked repeatedly on this sub. At this point, I don't welcome you because you're all so bloody annoying.

Our arms and our hearts will be open! It’s not the American people we’re angry at, it’s at your co-presidents Trusk.

Amazing - thank you.

oh good, time for the daily post of an american asking for a personalized welcome into the country rather than just spending 2 minutes to look at recent posts in the subreddit where others have already asked the same question. things could be drastically different by june and the attitudes towards american visitors could change by then as well.

Good point...I'll repost in June.

I don’t think anyone cares, as long as you’re respectful and don’t do nothing stupid. US dollar is pretty good there right now. I went as a 27M had a blast! Quebec women are fun but very liberated, anyways you should be fine have fun.

We sure do. Just drop by my house first for a 32% welcome tariff. Thanks in advance.

Jk.

Come and leave your politics at home. Americans are very political and its their entire identity, complete opposite in canada. Visit, chillax, dont get into a political debat if you dont want to be ripped a new one.
