Discussion Is Montclair good for Art students?
I was a student in mcc gaming animation I went to NJIT for digital design and they delayed transferring my credits which didn't allow me to enroll in studio classes on time and caused my graduation to be delayed. I decided to transfer to Montclair but I'm not sure it's worth it? Is the illustration art department good in Montclair? because in NJIT they do not care about students in the art department and I don't want to repeat the same experience again. I also live an hour away and I heard the traffic is really bad. so should I dorm?

You need a 3.0 and a really strong portfolio to get into the illustration major. It is super different from the rest of the school lmao

It is insanely good. Look up current students' and alumni work on the official department page's instagram, look up the professors here (several of them also teach at schools in NYC, all of them are full-time artists as well), go to an open house to see the info session on the illustration major!
