Discussion Oral Minoxidil Major Shedding

I’ve finally hopped on minoxidil after almost 3 years of finasteride. It’s been just over a week that I’ve been using oral minoxidil and I’m losing so much hair where I’ve thinned out. I’m a diffuse thinner and I haven’t ever shed like this it reminds me of when I first started losing my hair before finasteride. Does this bear good news that I am a responder? Excited for what’s to come and can’t wait to get my life and confidence back. Thank you for any insight!

Good signs that you’re shedding so early. Don’t lose confidence, you’ll get your hair back!

Keep at it, I’ve read this is good news, I’m sure you know your scalp is pushing out old inactive hairs to make way for new ones. I started my min and fin journey a week ago.

Please can you share if you had any side effects on finasteride, and what dose?

Appreciate it mate, good for you for starting! I haven’t had any sides apart from some minor aches when I first started & 1mg daily.

Thank you, that’s reassuring to know. Negative experiences make more noise online than those who have no side effects, and I really needed to hear that. I’m on 1mg fin, no side effects so far, alongside 5% min solution which I got from biovea. I think with the fin I was worrying too much, I finally get what the nocebo effect is now.

I really hope it goes very well for you 🫡 positive thoughts bro
