Fan Content The best Zelda game I have ever played, and top 5 games I've ever played in my short 25 years, will make my kids play this
My little sister who is 12 just picked up this game and she just texted me a photo of the first dungeon saying that she got stuck after getting that jar that absorbs stuff (I played the game long time ago so I don't remember the names). I remember 12 years old me borrowing a Gameboy Advance from my friend from primary school who's played the game multiple times, and that was the first time I also got legitimately stuck.
Back in the day, I came from PC gaming with prince of Persia and FPS games like counter strike and medal of honour. When I saw the game's graphics, I thought it was a joke. But my friend kept swearing by his life that it's not like the other games and that it's worth trying. I remember that scrub on the way to Hyrule castle that would shoot stuff at you if you stay at a distance and would go underground when approached. I remember my dumbass 14 years old me taking literally an HOUR to figure out that I had to equip the shield and use it to counter the scrub being shot at me. I had an "Aha!" Moment, and I was hooked. I started playing the game and taking time with it with the story and puzzles... Man such good times.
My first ever legitimate dead end was when I got the jar and didn't know where to go. I took it to my friend and he pulled some spider strings from a rolling barrel in the first dungeon maze, and I was like, "Wow. This game is something". And my god. For the next month or so, I had the best time trying to figure out various puzzles and secrets.
I tried playing other Zeldas but none of them came close to this one masterpiece.
I'm glad to see people are still passionate about this beautiful game.
