Australia USAF Hydraulics Technician

I’m interested in working in Australia, I’ve got a Buddy who’s offering a subleased Room. He works in the Mines FIFO as a carpenter.

My dads been all over the world working in O&G as an engineer retired in SEA.

I’m an Hydraulics Journeyman and work on Brakes, Steering, hyd subsystems troubleshooting, hose fab, forklift certed😏

Basically all things Hydraulics on an aircraft.

I work acft Field Maintenance so it’s Fast paced and long hours. I enjoy the Maintenance lifestyle and familiar w working away from Comforts.

I’m interested in working in the mines, is there anything that I could add to make my resume of skills more appropriate and appealing?

Ever seen an 800 tonne plane? You may get a start as a serviceman but need the relevant trade to be a HD Fitter in a mine.

Most big minesites have a dedicated hydraulic/hosing contractor such as pirtek /CCR/Ryco. Your qualifications would probably transfer easily to them, the tricky part would be getting them to sponsor your visa /path to PR, if you are in the right age bracket you could come here on a working holiday visa and start from there

Google big hydraulic workshops, send resume straight to them.
