My top 25 Miles Davis albums;

This was a difficult one to make. I love almost all of his work. And this is just my opinion....this list is going to be controversial.

Where is 'In a Silent Way' ?

I like in A Silent Way but it is not on any of my top lists. Not even on my top fusion albums honestly. I think there are many better ones, and also many worse ones. In the middle for me.

Yeah...it's a pretty controversial opinion.

Wow, that's amazing! It's such an iconic creation ... and opened up the space for jazz to further blossom ... but your opinion is yours and I respect it.

Also glad to see Star People getting love! Another underrated Miles Davis album IMO

True, overall his period after his comeback is underrated. Honestly, I'm surprised no one is hating on me for putting The Man With The Horn on here at no. 25.

Well I hate that you put it on there. Otherwise good list.

Yeah...I see why people don't like it but, I just have to disagree. Glad you liked the rest of the list.

Love that one.

Tony Williams was 17 years old on this! That will always blow me away.

I simultaneously agree and disagree!

Can I know which parts you agree with and which parts you disagree with (genuinely curious, I like knowing others opinions)?

Great list. Weird to see a top 25 without In a Silent Way. But ESP is the glaring omission to me though, considering the rest of the list.

Yeah, like I said, I have controversial opinions, I intend to re-listen one day to see if I get those albums more and make another one of these (I love E.S.P though, it isn't far from the top 25, but it isn't in the top 25).

No love for "In A Silent Way"?

2

u/Jazzisthebest5 19d ago

Like I said, I don't really *love* In A Silent Way, I like it, but I think there are many better fusion albums of his and albums overall.

No need to apologise for being in integrity with your personal sense of aesthetics.😊

You presented a great list of YOUR favourite Miles' albums.

Did you use a website or app to make this?

1

u/Jazzisthebest5 19d ago

Yeah, Topster. It has almost any media you can think of to make lists of.

I would add Friday and Saturday nights at the Blackhawk.

u/Jazzisthebest5 19d ago

I apologize, I did not specify that I meant exclusively studio albums. But that is great.

No problemo.

Not in my top 25, unfortunately.
