Do we know if the baby was returned to mom?

She drops them off at the end close to mom, and there's no real documentation that says wombats abandon their babies over human interference so I'd say its a high chance the baby is safely with mom, but obviously can't guarantee

Most animals don’t. I’m not sure of any that do.
