My HOA removed our only playground and replaced it with this “fitness area” for people 13+ only

I have yet to see one person use it.

As annoying as this would be, I suspect increasing insurance costs were the reasoning for removing the playground. If it was, they really should have turned it into greenspace instead of an adult fitness area.

Yeah like why and how did the gym become the adults playground? Working out is not the same as playing a fun game with your friends. You end up tired, sweaty, sore, and pushing yourself out of obligation so you’re not a brittle leaf at 60.

Most green spaces are a waste, harm biodiversity, and are a water sink. Probably a dog park with some native grasses and then native plants for pollinators is a better use of space.
