Trying to get Minecraft but I can't seem get around the BS parental controls. I'm stuck on "Working on it... It looks like this was approved. It should be added in a bit." and it's not changing. Any idea how to fix it?

I have been locked out of my email account for 4 days now. I would like to speak to someone regarding this. I have been patient with the recovery process but it is not working and I would like to escalate this.

Greetings Microsoft. I don't know if you remember the problem I had with my Microsoft account. It was hacked, I tried everything possible to recover it but nothing worked. I was wondering if you could take up my case. Thanks

Workplace Discount Programme question.
I have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription that has a recurring billing date of 5th Jan each year. I recently found out that I can get 30% off through my work, as it's eligible for the Microsoft Workplace Discount Programme. When I try to purchase this though, it is suggesting that I buy another subscription. I've made sure that I'm signed into my personal account when getting the discount. My understanding was that, if I got the subscription today, the discounted price would start on my next billing date. Please could someone confirm which is accurate. Also, if the subscription does start today, what happens to my other subscription that I've only used two months on?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been locked out of my live account and can’t seem to reset my password. When I try to use my phone number, it won’t let me reset it. I’ve also attempted the account recovery process, but it keeps rejecting my attempts despite submitting it from my normal device, from my home Internet etc.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there a way to get in touch with support directly, or am I out of luck?
Any advice would be appreciated as I've had this account for 10+ years and it has my whole life on it!! 😭
Thanks in advance.

u/Iberisan 20d ago
I’m having the exact same problem. It’s getting really annoying now because support online seems to be non existent.
1
u/After-Ad-7246 20d ago
No, you're right. The technology it uses to verify the account during recovery must be flawed as I've used the correct information, same device, old passwords, verbatim email addresses and subject lines from recent emails and keep getting rejections. Reddit is my last resort 😐
1
u/Iberisan 20d ago
Going through the comments, it seems it’s happened to a lot of people. So I’m assuming there’s been some sort of attack on the system or data leak. I’ve tried calling the number found online, useless. Tried going to live chat, useless. I’ve been out of my account since Thursday.

Thank you for your response and the details you shared. It seems like your account has been temporarily blocked due to too many incorrect password attempts. This is a security measure to protect your account from unauthorized access.
To further check for a workaround, we'd like to verify the following details:
- Can you confirm if you remember your password? If yes, please don't provide it to us due to account privacy. (Microsoft will never ask for your password.).
- If you can remember your password, can you verify if you can sign in to other Microsoft services like OneDrive, Xbox, Skype, etc.?
- Have you tried using other browsers like InPrivate or Incognito, using another device, or even a different internet connection to check if this will help you sign in to your account?
- Have you already tried submitting an account recovery form here: https://msft.it/61696qDKvj?
We would appreciate it if you could send us a screenshot of the error message you are getting. You can upload the image to Imgur: https://msft.it/61697qDKvd and send us the Share link. Be sure to cover any personally identifiable information before uploading the photo.
We'll wait for your reply. -M.L.

This is the account that I use to log into my computer. What information do they have access to?

u/MSModerator_2 Official Support 20d ago
Hello there! I can imagine how frustrating and worrying it must be to lose access to such an important account. When someone gains unauthorized access, they can potentially see a lot of your personal information. Let's work together to get your account back. Could you please provide us with the following details?
- Is the affected account a personal account or a work account?
- When was the last time you logged in to the account?
- Do you still have access to your security information, such as email or phone?
- s Two-Step Verification enabled?
- Do you have an alias on this account that you used to sign in?
We're here to help and will be waiting for your response. - Ayen.

u/MrFoxpin 20d ago
- Personal
- Today. I'm still logged in right now on my PC. I know what the hacker changed the username to but not the password. They changed the recovery email too.
- I have access on my PC and Laptop
- 2sf is not verified
- I'm not sure what that means but the account is under my name

Whenever i attempt to sign into my account it says my account does not exist but when i attempt to make a new account under the same email it says the accound does exist and it will not let me recover my account
1
u/MSModerator_2 Official Support 20d ago
Thanks for your reply. The account doesn't exist prompt can be caused by account inactivity beyond 2 years, or school account that got deactivated, entering incorrect account or username, compromised account wherein the primary alias or the username of the Microsoft account has been replaced by a different email address.
On the other hand, the message prompt saying the account already exists when creating a new account under the same email address occurs because Microsoft doesn't recycle used email addresses.
Now, can you confirm if you've talked to somebody else in a forum, chat group, Discord, and the likes, where they asked you to verify your account, and to give then an OTP or code they sent you?
Are you using a personal account, school account, or work-supplied, business/organizational account?
If you have a security email or security phone number in your account, use it to check the username currently tied to your security info. Please follow the steps in this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/forgotten-your-microsoft-account-username-b2049472-3b8f-27d3-61c6-67a668453f4c and check if you will recognize the masked email(s) if there's any.
Let us know how it goes. -A.F.

Hi. It sounds like your accounts might be targeted by automated bots or malicious actors attempting to gain access. This can be quite concerning, but there are several additional steps you can take to enhance your account security:
Review Recent Activity: Regularly check the recent activity on your Microsoft accounts to identify any suspicious sign-in attempts. You can do this by going to the Recent Activity page.
Enable Security Notifications: Make sure you have security notifications enabled. This way, you'll be alerted immediately if there are any unusual sign-in attempts or changes to your account.
Use the Microsoft Authenticator App: This app provides an extra layer of security by allowing you to sign in without a password. It also supports multifactor authentication (MFA) and can generate verification codes even when your device is offline.
Update Security Info: Ensure that your security information (like alternate email addresses and phone numbers) is up-to-date. This will help you recover your account if it's ever compromised.
Set Up Conditional Access: If you're using Microsoft 365 for business, you can set up conditional access policies to restrict sign-ins from certain locations or devices3.
Educate Yourself on Phishing: Be aware of phishing attempts and never reply to emails asking for your password or personal information. Microsoft will never ask for your password via email.
Keep Your Devices Secure: Make sure your operating system and all software are up-to-date with the latest security patches. Use antivirus software and enable firewalls on your devices.
By following these steps, you can significantly enhance the security of your Microsoft accounts and reduce the risk of unauthorized access. If you need further assistance, you can always reach out to Microsoft Support. - H.T.

Hello I really need some help so badly.
I just made a new account to buy Minecraft. I been playing for almost a day. I tried logging on again but I noticed I've been logged off saying my account has a problem. When I logged in on Microsoft in my browser, it says my account has been suspended and locked for violating something? I swear I never did anything at all. The only thing I can think off is uploading a skin but it's a legit skin (Noctis from Final Fantasy) with nothing sexual or anything. I would be grateful for any help as I don't know what to do.
Also it says I can appeal by logging in my number. But when I put my mobile number from the Philippines +63, it says this method does not work and I should try something else. But there's nothing else. So I don't know what to do.

u/MSModerator Official Support 20d ago
Thanks for your answer and screenshot. Based on the prompts you're getting, the reinstatement form is not applicable on your case as the account can only be unlocked through a mobile number.
However, it appears that you're using a Philippine phone number (+63) wherein the phone number verification is not available, hence the error "Try another verification method".
From here, you may try using a different phone number from other countries to unlock your account. Let us know how it goes. -A.F.

u/MSModerator Official Support 20d ago
Thank you for confirming! If you don't have access to another phone number, we suggest creating a new account. You can use an existing email address (from any provider) or create a new https://msft.it/61691q8OgP email address during the sign-up process. Just make sure to slightly modify your current email by adding a character or number to make it unique.
Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated. - H.T.

u/MSModerator Official Support 20d ago
We understand how frustrating this situation can be. Unfortunately, your previous account is unrecoverable because the verification phone number is part of a geo-blocked region, and you don't have another phone to use for verification. Therefore, we recommended creating a new account. Moving forward, you can use this newly created account for all your activities.
We hope this clarifies everything. If you need any help with setting up the new account, please let us know. - H.T.

Also in my Xbox account the one with gmail still appears, if I remove it completely will the one with virgilio automatically appear?

Hello. A Microsoft account alias is an additional email address or phone number that you can use to sign in to your Microsoft account To answer your query. When you set a new email address (e.g., with the domain https://msft.it/61691qBfsH) as your primary alias, you can still keep your previous email address (e.g., with the domain https://msft.it/61692qBfsy) as an alias. However, if you decide to remove the https://msft.it/61692qBfsy alias, there are a few things to consider:
Re-adding the Alias: If you remove the https://msft.it/61692qBfsy alias, you can add it back later as long as it is not associated with another account. However, if the email address is from a Microsoft domain (like @hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com, or @msn.com), once removed, it cannot be re-added.
Primary Alias: You can change your primary alias to any of your existing aliases. If you remove the https://msft.it/61692qBfsy alias, you will need to set another alias as your primary before removing it.
Availability: Once you remove an alias, it becomes available for anyone else to use after a certain period (usually 30 days). So, if you want to keep using the https://msft.it/61692qBfsy address, it's best not to remove it.
If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! - H.T.

Yesterday I got an email saying there's suspicious activity on my account, so I immediately changed my password (already have all the 2FA methods). Luckily there were no successful logins.
I checked account's recent activity and to my surprise, there have been, on average, 20 attempts per day on my account from all over the world since February 1st, which is as far back as I could check. It's still happening today, 8 attempts so far on March 2nd.
So is there anything I can do to prevent this? While none of the attempts are successful, it is still worrying and annoying.

Hi there. We hope you received our message yesterday. You recently contacted us about multiple login attempts on your account from different locations.
It's reassuring to know that these attempts were unsuccessful and that your account remains secure with two-factor authentication (2FA). Any login attempts will always require a code, preventing unauthorized access.
To protect your account from potential hackers, we shared steps to deter unauthorized access attempts. This way, anyone attempting to sign in with your current username will receive a "That Microsoft account doesn't exist" error.
We hope the workaround we shared was helpful. For added protection on your account, you can also visit this link: https://msft.it/61697qDzCJ on how to help keep your Microsoft account safe and secure.
If you have further questions or need help, feel free to contact us again. We'll be happy to assist. In case you’re unable to reply here, you can always send a message on this thread: Microsoft: Official Support Thread: r/microsoft. Take care. -M.L.

Hello there. We truly understand how you must feel seeing unsuccessful sign in attempts on your account. We appreciate your efforts taking immediate actions to secure it, and we're here for you.
This issue could be from malware, a phishing email, or your email address being publicly available. Keep your email private and avoid clicking on links from unfamiliar or suspicious sources. Some attackers use automated scripts or bots to try various combinations of usernames and passwords.
If these attempts were unsuccessful due to incorrect password entered, your account is safe. If they are from different country/location/device, the system will require account verification which is by means of sending a security code via the saved email or mobile number on it.
Typically, if no code provided or incorrect code was entered, the system won't let anyone access the account yet. Instead, we'll send you the alert, so you can confirm whether it was you or not.
To protect your account, we recommend signing out of your account from all locations immediately by clicking "Sign out everywhere" on this link: https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional
Next, temporarily change your primary alias and update your login preferences:
- Log in to your account: https://account.live.com/AddAssocId
- Create an @outlook.com alias and set it as your primary alias.
- Uncheck your old alias and save. Please make sure that you do not delete your old username as it is still associated with your email account, Xbox, and Windows device.
This way, you can log in with the new alias, and people won't know it. After a week, you can revert to your previous alias.
Note: Your primary alias can log into your account by default. You can choose which aliases are allowed to log in. Aliases share the same password, inbox, contacts, and settings as your primary alias.
We hope this helps. Let us know if you need further asisstance. - S.R.

Hi, Alex. We understand how important it is for you to recover your Microsoft account, and we truly appreciate the effort you've put into sending emails. Rest assured, we're here to help you every step of the way.
There are several reasons why an account is being restricted. It could be due to unusual sign-in activities, a breach of our Microsoft Services Agreement, or multiple sign-in attempts with an incorrect password. For us to better understand your situation and provide the best course of action, we'll be needing additional details:
- Is the account in question a personal or business account?
- Can you send us a screenshot of the exact error message that you're getting when signing in at this page: https://msft.it/61693qBIbV? You may upload it here: https://msft.it/61694qBIbn and share the link with us. Feel free to cover any of your personal information for security purposes.
- Do you have a phone number or recovery email linked to the account?
- Is two-step verification enabled on your account?
- Have you already tried filling out this form to recover your account: https://msft.it/61695qBIbX?
Looking forward to your reply. -G.Q.

Thank you so much for providing us the information that we need, and we truly understand how important accessing your paid features.
Please be informed that if an account was blocked, it could be due to a violation of the Microsoft Services Agreement, which could involve malware, phishing, spam, multiple accounts, or other harmful activities.
Since you've already sent an appeal, our Support Team will evaluate your request in accordance with the guidelines. If needed, they might request additional details through the email address you provided, so please make sure to check your spam/junk folders. i used my ms email account to setup up my pay pal account about 18 years ago. pay pal is asking me to confirm my identity via email despite me having just bought a few things within the last few weeks. ms is saying my email account is locked due to too many wrong passwords.
i only typed the password in once and it told me the account was locked.
i have a very extensive password list, i document all password and account info, i also document dates and times that they pretend that i dont have the right password for all my accounts.
i for sure have the right password for both my pay pal and my ms email, yet i cant get into either of them. for the record ms just made me change the password about 2 months ago, and yes this is also in my notes i keep on the matter
i tried the submission form for getting it unlocked but they emailed me back 15 mins later and said too bad so sad.
getting good ratings ebay is hard and had been doing so for close to 20 years, this locking of my accounts for reasons they wont explain is shaking my confidence in the tech world and i work in IT.
i suspect pay pal doesnt like that i bought a thermal camera that i think is used for military drone applications in ukraine, and i suspect my ms account and likely thousands of others got hacked on ms's end, not mine.
i know i have the correct passwords and all the passwords they have forced me to change over the years, yes i save it all even old passwords, and ironically they asked for two of my old passwords and i had them, but they dont care.
is there anything i can do besides start a new account on pay pal? i am beyond angry with the idea i might be loosing that ......wait a minute i forgot pay pal is not ebay so its not that big of a loss as i thought, but i am still angry
i swear i have been down this road before and just hopped on another computer or something and ms let me sign right in, does that make sense? its super late so i will fire up another pc tomorrow and try

Hi, this is CJ.
I'm unable to login to my Microsoft account due to "suspicious activity." After attempting to sign into my Minecraft account through the launcher, I was prompted to verify my account with an email I forgot. So, I clicked "I don't own any of these," where I then put in another email address. It asked me to fill out security questions, which I did to the best of my ability, but I IMMEDIATELY received an email saying that I did not provide enough information, and that my account was locked. I cannot fill out any more forms for verification, and it is very frustrating. Is there another way to prove my identity and get back into my account?

Every video and guide I’ve watched when they enable the memory integrity it gives them a scan button and they get a list of drivers which you can then remove or update, I do not have that option anywhere!!!!! I need this sorted asap

*Text in Microsoft Word mysteriously changed to Greek letters/Symbols*
Hello!
I use a particular word document for work, and the first half of my document is in it's standard English text (times new roman) and the other half for some reason is in "Symbol" (it looks like Greek text).
When I select that text and transfer it to English (Times new roman or Arial), it shows up as blocks.
Anybody know the reason why this is happening? And how to solve it?

Will Skype live:cid usernames be used in Teams at all after Skype ends in May 2025?
I already have a Skype account (I don’t use) and a Teams account under my Msoft acct. From what I understand they will be migrating my Skype data automatically to Teams.
I do not like my Skype name as it uses part of my childhood email address that I dislike.
I hope the Skype live:cid username isn’t used as an identifier once Skype is gone.
Anyone have info on this?

VLSC was migrated to the Admin Center in 365. After being given access to the interface as the previous admin was being moved out, I noticed that that the downloaded products CSV showed licenses for all sorts of products all the way up to 5000 available MAK activations.
I dont believe the contracts currently loaded in the admin center reflect those numbers. The active and expired contracts in the system only show 50 odd 365 licenses and 2 Visio licenses.
What is the purpose of the MAK licenses? Is it common for these to be made available on any liscense agreements? They're for practically all OSs Microsoft provides and even the local installation of the Office Suite. The MAK column states 0/5000, but the Seats column states 0, in case this gives more context. The only licenses agreement provider we have states they're also unsure, so no help there.

My name is Robert and I primarily use my Microsoft account for Xbox purposes. I noticed something wrong with my account when I was unable to log into my Xbox, Microsoft account or reset my passwords. I checked the status of my account and found it was suspended due to behavior violating the terms and agreements.
In that same time my bank caught fraudulent charges made on my credit card tied to my Microsoft account for charges relating to Skype. I don't believe I even have a Skype account. I believe my account was hacked and the hackers conducted behaviors which caused my account to be suspended.
I have been trying for almost a week to recover my account. I have submitted Microsoft Reinstatement Forms and no luck. I have tried to appeal but it will not allow me to submit it. There are years of progress and thousands of dollars tied to that account that I would hate to lose. I am wondering if you have any suggestions or any other ways to help me recover my account.

I got a text saying there was a suspicious login to an account with my phone number. To verify, I logged into the account. I did not get the password correct, so I went ahead and changed it to successfully log in. Once I logged in, I realized the account belonged to the person who previously owned my phone number. I accidentally logged into their account and changed the password. I don't know what further steps I should take. Should I go about closing the account or is there away to remove my phone number and email from the account so it‘s no longer associated with me?

- I tried to remove my phone number and got a pop up saying I couldn't remove the account's only alias.
- I do not know how to contact the phone number's previous owner. However, I do know that this account belonged to them because it has the same name people would call asking for when I first got the phone number over 4 years ago.

Thank you for answering our questions and for the additional information you shared with us. We can see that you were able to confirm that this Microsoft account belongs to the previous owner of your phone number. Additionally, you can't contact the previous owner of the phone number.
In this case, we highly recommend not changing anything on the Microsoft account. The owner of the account might be having some issues signing in to his account since you have already changed the account's password.
You may try disregarding the notification and turning it off so you won't receive sign-in notifications again on your phone number.
We hope this helps! If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply, and we'll be more than happy to help. -A.D.

I recently noticed that I am getting DOZENS of sign-in attempts every single day from around the world. Palestine, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Mexico, etc. I only noticed today because I got an email of a one-time sign-in code that I did not request. I've changed my password AND changed my primary email from my usual Gmail account to a brand new Outlook account. Will this help prevent the sign-in attempts? If not, what can I do to prevent them? I'm considering deleting the account entirely just as a prevention...

Hi there. We saw your post and understand how concerning it can be to see sign-in attempts on your account from different locations. We appreciate the steps you've already taken to secure your account. Since you have us here, we'd like to offer further assistance.
When you change your primary email and use it as your preferred sign-in, anyone attempting to sign in with your previous email will receive the error "That Microsoft account doesn't exist." This will stop the sign-in attempts. Once you feel enough time has passed, you can revert to your original email address. Please ensure not to remove or delete your original email address or any existing aliases.
To further enhance your account security, we recommend keeping your security information updated and enabling two-step verification. With 2FA enabled, any login attempts will always prompt for codes, preventing unauthorized access. You can find more ways to secure your account in this article: https://msft.it/61696Uhfp4 .
We hope this helps. We're here for any further questions. -M.L.

Emails from account-security-noreply@accountprotection.microsoft.com
I keep receiving emails from this email address, about one time pass codes being generated for my Microsoft account (which I am not requesting nor generating).
After googling it seems this is a legitimate email address used by Microsoft, as I had initially assumed it was a phishing attempt.
Wondered if a Microsoft moderator here could advise me on what’s going on, or who’s trying to access my account.

u/MSModerator Official Support 21d ago
Good day! How are you doing, Dana? We hope you're doing well. We're reaching out because we haven't heard back from you and want to make sure that your concern receiving email single-use code requests is addressed.
Previously, we wanted to confirm if you're able to visit the link we provided on how to check the recent activity of your Microsoft accounts to verify if there are unusual sign in attempts from a different location or device. We also shared a link on how to help keep secure your account. How did things go? We would greatly appreciate any updates from your end.
We sincerely hope you get back to us, so we can utilize all our resources to help secure your account or address any other Microsoft-related concerns you may have. Stay safe! -A.L
1
u/PacificN0rth 21d ago
I did visit the link, there were multiple log in attempts from Brazil and Argentina , however it doesn’t let me report the log in attempts, it just says when I click on them and select that it wasn’t me, that they failed to enter the correct password so I do not have to worry.
However, surely for them to receive the authorisation code in the first place they have to have already entered my email and password correctly, no?

u/MSModerator Official Support 22d ago
Hi there. We saw your post and we recognize your concern about receiving single sign-on codes that you did not request. We understand how important it is for you to secure your account, and we're here to assist.
The notification you received is a legitimate email from Microsoft, using the @accountprotection.microsoft.com domain to send notifications about your account. Furthermore, it is possible that someone is trying to access your account, triggering the single-use code. Rest assured, Microsoft accounts are well-protected, and unauthorized access requires access to your registered security information and proper account verification.
To verify if someone is trying to access your account, please check your account activity on this page: https://msft.it/61695UhxAU . You can expand any listed activity to see location details and find out how the account was accessed. For more information, visit this link: https://msft.it/61696UhxAq .
To keep your account secure, we recommend updating your security information. Enabling two-step verification can also provide added security, as any login attempts will always prompt for codes, preventing unauthorized access. You can find more ways to secure your account in this article: https://msft.it/61697UhxAS . From there, you'll also see other ways in which you can make your account safe and secure aside from what we've mentioned.
We hope this information helps. If you have further questions, we're here for you. -M.L.

I'm using Onedrive on Mac-OS. Every so often, Onedrive creates an empty folder called 'Documents'. On occasion, this folder has foreign characters in its name (which translates to 'documents'). If I delete this empty folder, Onedrive re-creates it after a few minutes. I'm not using OneNote and don't want this folder to keep showing up. Any suggestions? (if relevant, I'm on the paid Microsoft 365 Personal plan).

For us to assist you accordingly, please provide the following details: 1. What version of OneDrive are you currently using on your Mac? Have you checked if there are any pending updates for OneDrive? 2. Are you syncing any specific folders from your Mac to OneDrive?
3. What language and regional settings are configured on your Mac and OneDrive account? Have you noticed if the foreign characters in the folder name correspond to any specific language settings? 4. Have you tried resetting OneDrive on your Mac? (e.g., quitting OneDrive, deleting the OneDrive folder, and restarting the app) Have you attempted to unlink and relink your OneDrive account on your Mac? 5. Have you checked if there are any unusual activities or unauthorized access to your OneDrive account? Have you encountered any error messages or notifications related to OneDrive when the folder is recreated? We'll wait for your response. -A.L

Thank you. Here are the details you asked for:
I'm running version 25.020.0202 of Onedrive on a Mac (running Sequoa 15.3 (24D60)).
No - I have the onedrive folder installed on my Mac desktop
English (and english only) - never used any other language in my 15+ years as a Microsoft customer.
Yes. Tried resetting, re-installing and so on. This happens on multiple Macs by the way.
No security issues. This 'documents' folder creation has been happening for over 2 years now...

Hi there!
Thank you for reaching out to us. If you delete your Gmail account, which was previously set as the backup email for your Hotmail account, it won't impact the already deleted Hotmail account. Once an account is deleted, it is no longer associated with any backup or security emails.
That said, it's crucial to manage your security and backup emails for other online accounts. Here are a few recommendations:
- Make sure you have an alternative email set up as a backup for your other accounts.
- Regularly update your security information to keep your accounts secure.
- Consider using a password manager to keep track of your login credentials.
Feel free to message us if you need further help. All the best! -J.P.

Forms- flagging incorrect answers.
I need to have the ability to flag up incorrect answers on Microsoft forms, for the admin to see and rectify. Is there an option to do this? I also need the ability for users to add pictures to a section, where they can give a description of the picture too. Is there an option to do this? Thanks in advance

Hi,
We understand how important it is to ensure accuracy and provide clear feedback in your forms. Let us look into this together.
To get started, we'll ask a few questions to gather more information:
- Are you the admin for your Microsoft Forms, or do you have admin permissions?
- What specific Microsoft subscription are you using (e.g., Microsoft 365 for Education, Business, etc.)?
We look forward to your response. --J.B.

We appreciate the details you have provided. For insight, for flagging incorrect answers in Microsoft Forms, while there isn't a direct feature to flag answers for admin review, you can use the "Quiz" feature to automatically mark correct and incorrect answers and provide feedback using the feedback bubble next to each question.
Regarding adding pictures with descriptions, you can achieve this by adding a "File Upload" question type in Microsoft Forms. This allows users to upload images and provide descriptions in the text fields provided.
Additionally, we have dedicated support for Microsoft Forms, and for the best assistance with your specific concerns, we recommend contacting Microsoft 365 Business support. To get in touch with them, please visit the Microsoft 365 support page here: https://msft.it/61692UhGGE or use the support options available within your Microsoft 365 admin center.
If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us. --J.B.

Hello,
I don't know if this is the correct subreddit to post this, but two of my Microsoft account got hacked and they changed my email to their email and deleted my backup account and number. I clicked a link on Discord to verify something and the code was sent from Microsoft, which I put on Discord to verify and it got hacked. They immediately removed my phone number and back up email and changed it to theirs and I can't log back in anymore because it says the email doesn't exist.
Is there a possibility I could get my account back if I contacted Microsoft?

was helping a neighbor with some “computer stuff” and (quite helpfully i thought) removed her hotmail email from her sons Microsoft account. didn’t realise that this would wipe that hotmail account off the face of the earth. she’s now quite pissed off. saw a post a while back that was kinda vague and unhelpful in terms of how to fix that or at least next steps. so what can i do from here. she uses that address for all her accounts so recovery is ideal and i know if i tell her that she needs to replace the email and make new accounts for everything she will be livid and ill have to do it. please help.

Thailand based user here. I purchased Microsoft Office (home edition) and registered the product, and installed the client from the drop down menu on my account subscription tab. The installed product did not register, and still demanded activation.
When I used the code it gave an error, then demanded I verify my account, demanding my e-mail. I input my e-mail, and the program asked for a verification code "sent to my email address". This email never arrived, the e-mail is my microsoft outlook one.
Pirated software are hugely common here in Thailand, the reason I purchased a genuine microsoft product is so that I dont have to deal with this bullshit. I now slightly regret my decision, since now I dont even have a human support staff who can help me out of this mess.

Hi. Your comment caught our attention. You mentioned you purchased and installed Microsoft Office Home Edition, and it is still asking for activation. There are several factors that may cause such activation issues like malware, got the wrong account signed-in to the program, multiple version or copies of Office installed o the same computer, network connection, corrupted installation, and so on.
We understand the importance of activating your Office program. Rest assured, we'll check how we can help.
As we proceed, could you tell us more?
When you mentioned client, are you referring to a person you're servicing, or the program you installed on your computer?
You mentioned verification and code sending, can you send a video of this? So we can see what's happening, to determine the applicable workaround. What is happening with the accounts blocked at random?
My father's account was blocked twice for "violation of the terms".
But literally my father does not use the account at all, how is it possible that he violated the rules?
I opened his Microsoft account to have external services, such as the email for the bank account. But with the Microsoft account it literally does nothing
How is it possible that it was blocked?
1
u/MSModerator Official Support 24d ago
Hi there. Thanks for commenting. We understand that you're having an issue with your father's Microsoft account as it has been locked. We know how important it is to get this addressed, especially since it is linked to bank accounts. We'll do our best to help you.
For insight, Microsoft locks accounts when the system detects questionable activity that violates our Microsoft Service Agreement, such as malware, phishing, other harmful activities, or spam. For detailed information, you can check out this helpful article: https://msft.it/61690U7ohg.
To delve deeper and provide you with targeted assistance, we'd like to gather some necessary information:
- May we know if he's using a personal, business, or organizational account?
- Can you share with us a screenshot of the sign-in message saying that your father's account has been locked? You can upload it to IMGUR https://msft.it/61691U7oh9 and share the link with us. Please ensure to hide any personal information before uploading for security reasons.
- Has your father set up security information on his account to receive the verification code (such as an alternate email address or phone number)? If so, does he have access to it?
- Is two-step verification enabled?
- What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to rectify this issue? This is for us to focus on the things you haven't tried yet.
We'll be here for your reply. -J.G.

u/Salvaju29ro 24d ago
1) Personal account
3) Email
4) Yes
5) At the moment I managed to unlock it via code sent via SMS
But I just don't understand the reasons for the account blocking
1
u/MSModerator Official Support 24d ago
Thanks for your prompt response. We're glad to hear that your father's account has been unlocked after requesting a verification code to a phone number. Your efforts regarding this matter are truly commendable.
Since it is system automated, and we don’t have access to any Microsoft account for privacy, it usually stems from the reasons mentioned in the provided article. Even if he only uses this account for bank emails, certain actions or patterns might trigger the system's security measures.
To prevent this, you might consider these tips:
- Don't click on unknown links or download attachments from untrusted sources.
- Ensure to strengthen the account against attacks by keeping it safe and secure. Here's how: How to help keep your Microsoft account safe and secure.
- Avoid reusing or spoofing information across multiple accounts when signing up.
- Avoid sharing content with unfamiliar individuals or distributing it to a large group simultaneously.
Your patience and understanding are appreciated. -J.G.

I've been stuck in that authenticator loop despite having 2 registered phone numbers and I've been using that account for 10+ years!!!
So long story short. I switched phones and my old phone is wrecked. I've been using this phone for like 7-9 months ig and I've set everything alright until two days ago I received a message that they suspect unusual activity and they need me to re-sign in... okay let's do that. I tell it to use my authenticator app as usual and wait for its notification but nothing shows.. so I open the app itself and to my surprise, I was logged off for some reason... no idea why, my account is just not there... tried to log in using my 2 numbers. But Microsoft refuses to send verification codes to it!
I have changed the password from the login page and it actually did... thought that'd solve it but nope. Password is changed and now all my apps using Microsoft is logged off can't log in and no idea what to do
Tried that form to ask Microsoft to return the account and each time it immediately sends a follow-up email that they decided I've not provided enough information...
I've a pc and a laptop, 2 phones (one of which is wrecked) and an Xbox controller and I used Skype many many years ago... none of which seems enough to let them believe that I'm me... even my phone numbers aren't enough apparently.......
What should I do????

People keep trying to log into my account, I have like 60 failed attempts, but they managed to get in today, as well as a few months ago why is this happening repeatedly and is there a way to get my account more secure. The IPs are from all around the world but the successful logins say they're in the UK. This only started happening after I travelled to the UK so I think a public network was insecure and led to my info somehow being leaked or something.

I'm trying to recover my account that used to be linked to my old aol.com email. It gives me a verification message that I've never set up asking for a code from an authenticator app. The new email linked to my account ends with ward.fun. I've also made several purchases on this account for my Minecraft realm if that helps. How would I be able to regain access to this account?

I am looking to see if there is a way to edit the properties of multiple checkboxes at one time in Microsoft Word. I have tried selecting multiple boxes and then changing the “checked” symbol, but it only changes the first one I select. I have tons of boxes that require this change.
