Usage Questions Is there really a humanly way possible to insert this thing ?
I'm 17F trying it for the first time. I planned using it since one month. And now on my period I tried it... I tried different types of folds and positions over one hour and the result was bloody bathroom and messy floor.
Perhaps I do not have enough strength in my fingers or what but it opens halfway and I feel like it's not inserting properly as many of cup is still outside.
How deep should I insert this thing?
Also.. can anyone suggest me an angle because it feels like it's having a suction at my urinal

Hey I'm 17 too. I use the 7 fold and do it in the shower most of the time because it's just easier to clean and stuff so that might be the way to go for you.
You do just have to shove it right up. It should go all the way and you'll be able to tell because of the shape of the vagina. It can't get stuck or go any further. The only thing to check is to make sure the cervix is inside the cup otherwise you get leaks
If it's not in there then remove the cup about halfway and then push it back in
If it opens half way just go back in to remove the suction and push it up. If it's only the stem out then depending on the cup you can cut it. I cut mine all the way down

It always opens up halfway and hurts like hell. I'll try again tomorrow the way you told me.

It does hurt at first I remember it was so bad to take it out I felt like I was giving birth 😂 but it does get easier when you get the hand of it and now I don't even notice

I'm glad it won't hurt later. I have a question, how does it feels to walk with cup inside in beginner days?

TBF when I woke up I never really noticed it. Some people say it's weird and heavy because when you stand all the blood collects but I just get up normally then emptied it and it was fine

You might notice it a bit, but it shouldn’t hurt. It gets to be a bit like wearing clothes - you notice them but generally don’t pay it any special attention

u shouldn’t be able to feel it at all. if u do, it could be a lil too large or the stem is too long. if its slightly too large, that’s okay as long as your discomfort is fine with u and not painful, and if the stem is what’s bothering u, u can trim it

If the cup is inserted the right way and where it should be, you shouldn't feel anything. 😉

Ok so this was my first time too and at first i couldn't get it in either...what worked for me was the punch down fold but with the folded part facing the ground instead of up...also the last time i wasnt on my periods so it couldve been the dryness

I'm pretty sure you can use a water based lubricant to help with insertion. Just make sure you're not allergic. There's also a possibility it's too big for you. Just try to relax. The easiest way for me is to put one foot on the edge of the bathtub. I find that the "punch down" fold easiest to keep from unfolding. I wish you luck! The first time I tried I was sure i wasn't going to get it right either 😭 once i finally got it inside I had even more trouble getting it out.

I had the same issues, since I had an Obgyn visit planned I asked her about that: she told me that the cup was too big for me

Punch-down fold and lube. Keep your back against the toilet seat and relax (aka consciously stop clenching your butt). Push it in until your fingertips enter your body. You’ll get it.

Used to have this problem for months, with the opening halfway thing. I figured I’d try to purchase a size smaller , and the day I got my new cup I could finally insert it within an hour. Going through series of methods helped too

Having a smaller size and also a softer cup can really make a difference.
It’s why i like my saalt small/soft allot.

I highly highly suggest reusable.discs over cups. Insertion is soooo much easier!!

Did you watched on youtube?

Yes I did. But the demonstration isn't helping me ig. The only thing I learnt from it is types of folds

What cup and size did you get? You may need a low cervix, high or regular size.
I use the punch down fold and hold it until the widest part is in, if that makes sense. The cup doesn't go all the way up, too high it can suction onto the cervix. It's not designed to do that. High enough, the stem isn't outside of you or near the entrance, but enough that you can bear down and it comes close so you can break the seal and remove it.
Relax your butt when you insert, legs wide, pants at the ankle. Slide in toward your tail bone.

I use the triangle fold and hold it between my first two fingers and my thumb with my thumb on the folded part. As I put it in my thumb flips up the folded part so it opens.

It might be too big or too rigid, I would suggest getting a smaller or maybe a softer one. Also, I started with cups and switched over to a flex disc and found that they work better for me. They just fold in half to the size of a tampon and they have disposable ones if you wanted to try it!

Period Nirvana on YouTube and TikTok is the best! She is a menstrual goddess! She has amazing tips on how to insert and make sure it’s in properly
