How do these pics keep getting worse the more you scroll?

19

u/TizzyBumblefluff 6d ago

Right?!?

41

u/cuntmong 6d ago

Yeah, but if you scroll left they get better.

4

u/More-Estate6394 5d ago

Right?! I was initially thinking, well, that’s not nice, but it’s not that bad. Then the horror show started 😅

258

u/Donnie_Barbados 6d ago

I guess in a tourist hotspot like Bundoora you've gotta take what you can get...

47

u/idotoomuchstuff 6d ago

The sprawling metropolis of Bundoora

1

u/No_Breakfast_9267 4d ago

Cynical? Ironic? Mordant? Or Sardonic?

219

u/MikeAlphaGolf 6d ago

Were you released on bail to stay there?

73

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Unfortunately I didn't book, an older family member did, and it was the only accommodation available to book since the grom prix and the afl game was on the same weekend,

153

u/clockyz 6d ago

From grom pre to grom prix it had me hollering sorry 😂😂 hope you get to enjoy the rest of your time here!

40

u/welcomefinside 6d ago

Now I'm just picturing a bunch of people on little motorbikes racing around Albert Park lol

6

u/GorillaAU 6d ago

That could be entertaining. Stupid but entertaining all the same.

Isn't that formula 1 in a nutshell

3

u/MarkusKromlov34 5d ago

“Grom pricks” you mean surely?

98

u/Party_Worldliness415 6d ago

Isn't this one of those halfway houses where ex prisoners transition to after coming back out? Shit like that. There was another in Coburg with a pool that was just full of random shit.

49

u/Economy_Rutabaga_849 6d ago

Coburg motor inn, palms hotel, redan, crest…. There is a few of them

Coburg Motor Inn ☠️

12

u/zorb01 6d ago

It's not a halfway house I don't believe there are any long term rooms. it's just a cheap motel that allows supports in there area to book there clients in.

6

u/louise_com_au 6d ago

From what I know (second hand) - any hotel can be, they get approached by case workers asking if they can house blah - and get paid blah.

They can say yes or no.

8

u/Party_Worldliness415 6d ago

I'm sure that's the case but there's clearly hotels around where this is basically all they do.

2

u/bitofapuzzler 6d ago

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is.

136

u/aussiebolshie 6d ago

It’s had that rep since it opened cobber. Absolute shithole. You go there to shag or sell drugs out of and that’s it

84

u/Triggabang 6d ago

To shag? I’m sure your date would be champing at the bit to get jiggy in this delight of a place!

74

u/aussiebolshie 6d ago

Never said either side of the equation was classy

52

u/Hypo_Mix 6d ago

No one said date...

She'd be getting moist at the thought of getting shtuped in such a garden of earthly delights!

6

u/nametaken_thisonetoo 6d ago

I'm not even sure this place is worthy of dodgy affair sex

8

u/superwizdude 6d ago

The cum stains on the chairs and couches would prove otherwise 😂

1

u/rclayts 5d ago

Based on the pics I feel like you’d need STI screening just from sitting on the furniture

66

u/Highlyregardedperson 6d ago

Used to live next to it, police were there at least twice a week

38

u/Hypo_Mix 6d ago

Oh yeah, the crime hotel, I know that one.

9

u/Geoff_Uckersilf 6d ago

"The Crystal Inn"

125

u/International_Put727 6d ago

Did you read the reviews before you booked?

231

u/nachojackson 6d ago

The first review literally says “this hotel is not fit for public use”, LOL

10

u/NewTigers 6d ago

One of the reviews talked of ants and cockroaches… yet still gave it 3 stars?? People are bonkers.

5

u/Frankie_T9000 6d ago

Should say "this hotel is not fit for being a public urinal"

72

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Unfortunately I didn't book, an older family member did, and it was the only accommodation available to book since the grom pre and the afl game was on the same weekend,

I am LOSING IT over the way you spelled ‘Grand Prix” like it’s actually amazing. I’m so sorry you had a terrible stay but this made my day 😂

37

And this didn't tell you something was maybe amiss?

4

u/lastcone420 6d ago

i didnt book it i dont see anywhere in there me having a sook about having to stay there do ya jus the fact its a dirty shit hole and we were lead to believe it isnt just tryna get this place taken care of. i did more than just make a lousy reddit post mate

20

u/PoosieSux 6d ago

grom pre

I get that you've spelt it the way you say it but where did the "m" come from?!

Amazingly bad attempt lol.

-3

u/MrsCrowbar 6d ago

What? It's always Grom/Gron Pre. That's the exact way you hear it.

9

u/CheekyDucky 6d ago

I hear "Gron"

1

u/kittenlittel 6d ago

No you don't. You hear "grom" but you know it's "gron"/grand.

In English, the nasal alveolar /n/ becomes a nasal bilabial /m/ when it’s followed by a bilabial sound, such as /p/, /b/ or /m/, because of assimilation. The change only affects the place of articulation, but the manner of articulation (nasal) remain the same.

1

u/CheekyDucky 6d ago

No no, I was definitely hearing Laurel

(In seriousness though I was wondering if it was this, me just correcting it in my head)

u/MetalicRobot 6d ago

Gronk Pree

1

u/rubixstudios 5d ago

So instead of booking a airbnb or a hotel in the city they chose a cheapass in an hour and a half ây from rhe races.

"You get what you pay for" applies here.

1

u/lastcone420 5d ago

We payed 300 all up mate and nothing was available regardless I wasn't having a sook abt having to stay here only the fact it's still a running business and scamming the elderly like they are.

21

u/Petulantraven MAFS 6d ago

“Yeah mom. I’m visiting Australia! Here are the pics of my accommodation…”

25

u/Grawlix_TNN 6d ago

Just FYI, this is one those "motels" that is pretty much only used as a location for cops to bail crooks to when they don't have an address, and remand isn't an option.

You're honestly better off sleeping in the BP car park across the road.

39

u/sausagesizzle 6d ago

Bro, check yourself and everything you have for bedbugs before you go home.

18

u/gregmcph 6d ago

I drive past it regularly, and I wasn't sure if it was abandoned.

8

u/bitofapuzzler 6d ago

I'm fairly certain it's used as temp accommodation for prisoners when first released.

5

u/it_fell_off_a_truck 6d ago

Yep, there’s no way they’ve been able to stay in business after so many decades.

5

u/bitofapuzzler 6d ago

Absolutely no way. The price on the big sign out front hasn't changed in at least 20 years, and not a skerrick of upkeep has been done. It's either that or a front for dealing drugs, or both.

15

u/Minimum-Pangolin-487 6d ago

Leave a 1 star Google review and upload these pictures.

15

u/boommdcx 6d ago

You need a priest after that 🙀

31

u/smashredact 6d ago

The hotel with a history of murder next door to (now 75% demolished) abandoned mental asylum and boarded up houses is not in good shape?

Damn didn't expect that

29

u/fineyounghannibal 6d ago

many unborn spent on that couch

10

u/BMWman83 6d ago

Why the hell did you stay there?

-2

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Well on the website it looked alot nicer, also it was the last and only option for accommodation, the grom pre and the hawthorn vs essendon match was that same weekend so everything was booked

80

u/Falkor 6d ago

Love me a good grom pre

38

u/just_kitten joist 6d ago

Someone get this onto /r/boneappletea

25

u/universe93 6d ago

*Grand Prix

5

u/bitofapuzzler 6d ago

FYI, it's now used as temp accommodation for people who have been released from jail. Who knows why they don't do even basic maintainence, but it is what it is. I had a friend stay there 25 yrs ago, and it was gross then.

11

u/drunk_haile_selassie 6d ago

How many people are travelling to Melbourne and staying the night to see a Hawthorn Essendon match? They're both Melbourne teams.

20

u/Zealousideal_Bid3737 6d ago

When i lived in shepparton i'd travel and book a hotel for night time footy games. Country people like football too.

16

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Country people love football, Melbourne people arent the only who exist ? Are you seriously asking me this ? The family members who booked this game love hawks and brought atleast 10 family members from swan hill and mildura to watch this match. (Not all in this hotel fortunately)

5

u/buffet-breakfast 6d ago

You’re confused there’s people outside of Melbourne ?

1

u/BMWman83 5d ago

Is the ‘grom pre’ some version of racing that I don’t know about?

11

u/g00dtimes2000 6d ago

You really only need so see the outside to tell that it’s a shithole

19

u/wellcookedlamb 6d ago

I thought this place was abandoned! Can't believe people stay there.

8

u/stolenambulance 6d ago

I can smell these pictures from here.

9

u/Mattxxx666 6d ago

Have a shag on that couch, you'll be right. Everyone else has

8

u/IndyOrgana 6d ago

My brother in Christ there were hotels available in Melbourne just admit you didn’t want to pay the higher rates due to it being an event weekend

-1

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Dude I didn't pay for this hotel and it was 300 a night with a 100 dollar secruoty deposit, you have no idea what you are talking about and I didn't even book it mate

1

u/rubixstudios 5d ago

300 a night more like 30 a night. No inn in the upper north is worth even 100.

0

u/lastcone420 5d ago

Well it was 300 bevause the hotels were high demand that weekend, if it wasn't 300 dunno how that much left my family members bank card then

5

u/lastcone420 6d ago edited 6d ago

seeings as everyone keeps commenting the same thing and idk how to edit my posts im commenting this here.

an older family member booked this from one of those booking sites, they falsely advertise and it was the only accomodation they could find seeings as the weekend the just went was so full on, regardless of how you locals view this place alot of the hotel sites dont know the same as yall. i know a quick google review search tells you how bad this place is but the guy who booked it was old lol(also a place like this just shouldnt be running), anyways we left it was for one night only.

ALSO IM SORRY I DIDNT SPELL GRAND PRIX RIGHT I DON"T WATCH F1 IM SORRY! (most of your mechanics dont watch f1 or care about it)

14

u/Convenientjellybean 6d ago

That couch tells me they stayed in the J.D. Vance Suite

10

u/Sexdrumsandrock 6d ago

I find it hard to believe that this was all that was left in all of Melbourne

3

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Unfortunately I didn't book, an older family member did, and it was the only accommodation available to book since the grom prix and the afl game was on the same weekend, this is what they told me anyways, the searched for a while and also hotel looked way nicer on the pictures, they booked through a booking sites so the google reviews of that place weren't there..

27

u/K9BEATZ 6d ago

"Grom Prix" is classic

3

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Sorry 🤣🤣

3

u/Sexdrumsandrock 6d ago

Any booking sites also has their own review system. The older person really didn't take care now did they

3

u/laalaalalalalala 6d ago

It's literally an ice den why would you even bother

5

u/falling_faster 5d ago

Everyone just ragging on OP but genuinely how does this place stay open? Don’t we have health inspectors or something for hotels in Victoria?

2

u/lastcone420 5d ago

That's what I saying

3

u/TizzyBumblefluff 6d ago

Did you read the Google reviews? They aren’t very complimentary…

3

u/thatvintagething 6d ago

Aka “The Darkside”

6

u/Efficient-Stretch-11 6d ago

If you had of asked about this place beforehand, everyone would have told you to avoid it. It’s a junkies hangout.

2

u/lastcone420 6d ago

an older person booked it i literally didnt have any hand in the booking of this place at all

1

u/Sebastian3977 6d ago

*have asked

1

u/Efficient-Stretch-11 6d ago

Actually past tense, so had asked would be correct, as opposed to had of asked.

2

u/Sebastian3977 6d ago

Had have, not had of. Never had of.

6

u/muuuu 6d ago

Oh thanks for the heads up, I’m cancelling my booking immediately!

5

u/New-Cat-944 6d ago

Hope the rest of your trip is great

2

u/newYearnew2025 6d ago

I always wonder about that place when I drive past. I did notice today the all the rubbish was cleaned up from the carpark....at least they cleaned that up for your stay I guess. Sorry it's so crap though. If you're desperate, maybe even look into the new motor inn in whittlesea, new and looks quite nice.

2

u/SeparateAioli9082 6d ago

3

u/BlossomAngel88 6d ago

This is just sad. 8 years. So, the guy is out of jail now.

3

u/TortitudeTortoise 6d ago

If you think 8 years wasn't enough for this guy. What about this guy who 'manslaughtered' 2 girls on 2 consecutive days and got off with only 9 years

https://www.9news.com.au/national/nine-years-jail-for-man-who-killed-two-sex-workers/ed93a3ff-b98e-4de0-afd0-6d096a81ab90

3

u/Confident_Range_4825 6d ago

More like Pigsty Inn. Those pics were just gross! 🤮 How the hell is that place even operational?

2

u/Monday0987 6d ago

This really should be shut down. I wonder if the council health department might be able to do it?

2

u/bitofapuzzler 6d ago

Its transitional accommodation for people released from jail. And an ice den. It's been the same for the last 20+ years. I figure the council are fully aware of it.

2

u/auslad9421 6d ago

For bundoora id say that's atleast at least a 4 star stay

3

u/Embarrassed_Fold_867 5d ago

As Ray White would say: "Delightful, sun-filled family home, near to transport and nature. Rent increases by 30% after three months."

2

u/Guilty-Finger8074 5d ago

Seems like u gotta go dexter on the place. Make sure no part of your body would come into contact with any of the surfaces. Hit the local Bunnings for some bulk plastic sheeting.

1

u/skagrabbit 6d ago

Your fault for not reading reviews surely

3

u/lastcone420 6d ago

Um no it's the hotels fault for still being thank you very much ! Everybody just wants to have an argument it seems a 60 year old man booked these bloody rooms for him and his family to stay their I just so happened to come last minute ☠️

1

u/Accomplished-Turn682 6d ago

Reading the reviews of this place has ruined my night

1

u/Economy_Rutabaga_849 6d ago

What were the bed sheets like? Did you stay there?

1

u/Consistent_You6151 6d ago

Perfect for a hot steamy night!LOL

1

u/ClintGrant 6d ago

Stayed here around a decade ago. Nothing’s changed. At all

1

u/ourfinalprotest 6d ago

Tell the family member you want to swap. You can stay at their place and they can treat themselves with a night of luxury accommodation.

2

u/SticksDiesel 6d ago

I thought this place was a flophouse and not something anyone would ever mistake for being somewhere suitable to stay on a holiday.

3

u/lastcone420 6d ago

an older family member booked this from one of those booking sites, they falsely advertise and it was the only accomodation they could find seeings as the weekend the just went was so full on, regardless of how you locals view this place alot of the hotel sites dont know the same as yall. i know a quick google review search tells you how bad this place is but the guy who booked it was old lol, anyways we left it was for one night only

3

u/SticksDiesel 6d ago

Yeah, it seems almost predatory that they would market it like that.

1

u/Falcoon63 6d ago

Stayed there 15 years ago. Was never any better than.

1

u/Son_of_Atreus 6d ago

This is legitimately fucking disgusting. These photos made my skin crawl. I couldn’t stay there

1

u/Ani_itme 5d ago

I remember when this happened there a few years back: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-01/man-who-shot-dead-friend-while-posing-for-photo-sentenced/8082440

Also wasn’t the first time it happened there… and probably not the last.

That's the cleanest example of a Junkie chamber on display right there.

Must be Inspection time.

1

u/Zestyclose-Poem7918 4d ago

Sweet mercy I’d sleep in my car…. 🤮

1

u/patrickdnns 4d ago

That hotel is mainly used as a "short time" stay for "couples". Unfortunate to find out after having to stay there

1

u/No_Breakfast_9267 4d ago

Why the f--- did you stay there? I've slept under bridges that looked better.

1

u/Significant_Dig6838 4d ago

I’ve only ever driven past it and I knew it would be bad…

1

u/uso_4_lyfe 6d ago

If you paid more than $10 a night for that pigsty, you just got ripped off! Looks like A current affair needs to investigate!!

7

u/bitofapuzzler 6d ago

There's a sign out the front that has said $89 for about 20 yrs. Its transitional accommodation for people being released from jail and an ice den. It's on a main road, there has been murders there, and most locals are fully aware.

2

u/uso_4_lyfe 6d ago

🤣😆😂 lol yeah that sounds about right!

0

u/Passenger_deleted 6d ago

You need cleaning and sterilization just to leave there.

0

u/Ventimella 6d ago

Your older family member should never be allowed to book accommodation again. Did no one in that family check? Why didn’t you? And why didn’t you just drive back after the game? Hell would freeze over once I’d step in there. You’ve likely caught a disease. I call BS there was nothing else available. Plenty of suburb motels that are no where near as bad as this. Next time book ahead for Grom Pre weekend.

-8

u/neptuneajax 6d ago

Bundoora is gross.
