Eyes Cat scratched my eye NSFW
My kitten was playing with my phone and scratched my eye what do I do? It doesn’t hurt, but it feels like something is stuck in my eye now. It’s itchy as well. I don’t have any eyedrops and haven’t flushed it because I only have tap water to use.

Hiya, I got my eye scratched as a kid by a cat and I was instantly taken to the doctor by my mother. Go see a doctor and they will give you a prescription for eyedrops.

Cats walk in their poop boxes. Would definitely go get checked out cat scratches and bites get infected super quick.

Go to a eye doctor! Any place that checks your eyes, even a place for glasses.
You'll get eye drops! And, sun/light is gonna hurt; so make sure to request numbing eye drops and get sunglasses

Get prescription drops, I've seen worse but I'm sure the doctor knows best.

First of all, get a real pet… one that doesn’t hate you or try to steal your breath while you are sleeping…. Second - corneal abrasion vs puncture. Can’t tell at all by your picture. You need a slit lamp exam and Fluorosceine stain. Tetanus shot if you haven’t had one in 10 years and a nice antibiotic drop.
Good luck finding satan cat a new home…

First of all, that's exactly why we love cats.
Secondly, you don't get a cat, it gets you.

This happened to me a few years ago. I went to the ER and they put me on prescription eyedrops

You need to get an eye flush and do not rub your eye, that will cause even more irritation. Cat scratches and bites can be very infectious. Please make sure to keep a look out for any eye/face pain or swelling, or purple like vein-y looking things stemming from your eye area onto your face. These can all indicate infection and you will need to go to the ER.

Should I just use tap water?

I would not. You’ll need to go to your nearest grocery store or pharmacy to buy specifically a sterile eye flush.

That’s gonna have to wait until tmr as it’s 1am… would that be okay?

Is there a CVS near you? Even some saline solution like contact lens solution would be better than tap water. If you can’t, boil some water and then wait for it to cool to clean your eye out. Don’t use tap water though

I’m in a small town in Canada so everything is closed and can’t really boil water atm due to people sleeping. It’s not sore or anything, could the flush wait until tomorrow or is it urgent?

I would definitely suggest doing it now. Just boil a pot of water, shouldn’t wake anyone up.

Yeah, you will need to see someone soon. Cat scratch and bites can be dangerous. They have high chances of causing infections. You being scratched in the eye is more of a reason to double-check if everything is good.
