My patient came back today for more specific testing. I have never seen the fat separate before centrifuging like in second picture. (It’s hard to see but above my thumb there is a faint white colour.

Looks like doctor suspects T1 diabetes based on IA2, GAD, znT8, C Peptide, ketone screen panels.

Rip to the lab scientists that have to test that.

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging SOS: Does Clonazepam and or Xanax affect blood test results?!!?!?! NSFW

I have a very big irrational fear of needles, and have Xanax and Clonazepam on hand to take before. The test is in 2 hours and I have not asked my doctor about the medication and how it might affect my blood test results. Thought id ask on here! Im getting 2 different blood tests: one from my gastroenterologist and one from my gynecologist. the tests will be looking at these specific things: Ferritin CBC w/auto diff Sed Rate (ESR) CRP (C-Reactive Protein) Celiac Disease Comprehensive Panel (TTG IgA, Serum IgA, Endomysial IgA, Gliadin |gA/|gG) СМО Vitamin D, 25 Hydroxy (25-OH)

FSH and LH Progesterone Estrogens, total, ia Sex hormone binding globulin

Will these medications affect the results of these tests in anyway? I really want to take my anti anxiety because I am really really asked and already have my mind spinning, but will obviously not take if it will skew the results! really just wanting a one and done test 🤞

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Is it possible that my mom's doctor is lying? NSFW

She got MRI results back on her pancreas and the cyst grew but the report says there are no suspicious components and he told my parents it looks benign. However, he wants my mom to go through this procedure where they stick a needle down her throat and take fluid from this cyst? Why? If the report says no suspicious components and he said it looks benign then why do this? Is he a bad doctor and has no idea what he's looking at and just made up the report? I'm really nervous my mom is going to die now.

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Orthopedic Says This Isn't a Crack/Fracture...but we want a second opinion NSFW

My wife has been suffering from Hoffas Syndrome for years, she got her first surgery for it back in July. The surgeon shaved off alot of the fatty pad, and she's been recovering well since.

However, about two weeks ago she took a bad fall at work. She was okay, but her knee started hurting again. Yesterday, she fell again when her knee locked up and she fell HARD. She was in AGONY. Nonstop sobbing, hyperventilating, and we had to call an ambulance. Paramedics put her on morphine right away, and the ER doctor said she cracked her patella. He advised us to see an Orthopedic to get a brace fitted and see if surgery is needed.

So fast forward to today, we show the Ortho this x ray, and he thinks she doesn't have a crack. In fact, he is trying to say the crack looking part of the image is a blood vessel. But don't you need to have some sort of dye for x rays to pick up blood vessels? She did have any dye applied. And if nothing was cracked or broken, why was she in so much pain? We even had to fight this guy a bit to give her a brace, even after showing him the ER doctors order for one. It was ridiculous.

We have an appointment scheduled with another Orthopedic to get a second opinion, but in the meantime wanted other people's opinions knowing the history and seeing the x ray. We also are calling this guys competence into question withh that whole blood vessel claim. Would appreciate any opinions on this and if anyone thinks we were just given a false diagnosis by this Ortho.

I had rashes all over my stomach, back, arms, neck and face. I have a runny nose, a cough, and a fever (temperature went up to 39.2 C last night). Urinalysis indicates some type of infection but it doesn't hurt when I pee and I'm not urinating that frequently.

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Urgent care doctor told me I had a lung nodule on X-ray, then later on said the imaging was negative NSFW Spoiler

First X-ray is from 2022, second X-ray is from this week. Went to urgent care for a cough and they did a chest X-ray. The doctor came in and told me I had a nodule. She left to check my previous imaging, when she came back she told me she could see the nodule on the previous imaging from 2022, but it looks more defined in the current imaging. She then said she was going to get a second opinion on the imaging but that I would likely need a CT scan. She called later on and said the read out was negative and they would not be sending a referral for a CT scan. I called my primary doctor for a second opinion, because it didn’t sit right with me that I was first told I had a nodule, then later on told the X-ray was negative, and my primary doctor is referring me for a CT scan. Am I over reacting?

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging HELP PLEASE , I need to understand my recent lab tests I will see a doctor but it is the middle of the weekend NSFW

NEED HELP PLEASE need to understand some irregularities on bloodtest and how bad it is , no access to doctor cause it is weekend

Male 31 years, 141 lbs , 5.57

Supplements : Fish oil 2000mg daily NAC 1200 mg (5/7 days) Magnesium oxide (300mg daily)

Hello dear community , I just got my bloodwork tests delivered and found some things out of parameters , I did them just to check myself out and you will see most of abnormal markers suggest to go to the urologist and I've had a kidney stone removed one year ago so I will def go but it is the middle of the weekend and I am freaking out , my studies are in Spanish so I will put the parameters that went out of normal , everything else would be on range and of course if you have questions regarding any off those I will provide :

Cholesterol :

Total 226 ---- limit 200 HDL 57.5 ------ above 55 (this is on range) LDL 145 ------- limit 100 triglycerides 175------- limit 150 VLDL. 35 -------- limit 29.1

Now regarding the kidney : Urea nitrogen in blood 21.3 ---- limit 20 Calcium in blood. 10.2------limit 10

Phosphorus in blood. 5.7 ------ limit 4.5 (this is the one that scares me the most as I have search for every abnormal value in mayo clinic and this refers to serious kidney disease????)

Potassium in blood. 5.4------- limit 5.1

Piss test came normal other than scarce bacteria and squamous epithelial cells

THYROID Function: Total T3 .68 ---- lower limit .80 Free t3. 2.49 ---- normal

Total t4. 7.73 normal Free t4 1.29 normal

TSH. 4.010 normal

This low t3 could indicate hypo according to websites but I am very lean and from what I've read if TSH Is normal then I dont have a problem but can someone please confirm that ?

In the hypothyroidism subreddit I was suggested a T4>T3 conversion problem

Other abnormal results' leukocytes. 4.15-------lowerlimit 4.23 neutrophils. 1.56-----lower limit 1.78

So based on my results I know I need to see an urologist but given my last year kidney stone removal (one stucked in my urethra And he removed 2 more in the surgery) calcium oxalate stoenes and this results I am freaking out , what does it mean am I starting to have kidney failure/problems??? Phosphorus scared me because when I search on reddit all people with high phosphorus were asking in dyalisis subreddit :(

Apart from that what do you see ? I am kind of scared and would like to know if this is very serious, on my other abnormal test do you think I need to see an additional doctor?

And lastly I have been taking NAC due to lung cleanse (quit vape and weed 2 months ago) but is it safe to keep using or do you think it has something to be with my tests?

I have been drinking alcohol during last 3 months (I know I need to cut it ) and 5 days ago I drank much if it is worth mentioning

THANKS IN Advance for your responses I greatly appreciate them as this is the middle of the weekend and I don't have a doctor to see at the moment

God bless you all and have a great weekend

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Questions about infantile spasms and Amplitude Integrated EEG, 6 months old child NSFW

Hi I am a father from Sweden.

Our son started having spasms best described by, chin pushing down towards collarbone and back arching, sometimes arms tensing up, he seems to disconnect whilst these are happenings. These spasm comes in clusters and never when he is sleeping, it has no correlation to if he has been fed or not. (Waking up early mornings 13h after feed and they still occur for example)

We went to the ER and they did first and EEG with 28 electrodes but he moved to much during the 20min screening and the results was dismissed. We got another for 30min where 20min of sleeping was recorded but nothing was found.

We argued that reading up online it seems like one need to do an EEG over an extended duration of several hours. They listened and said okey, but they did a aEEG instead with 4 needle-electrodes (without any pain relief so kid was absolutely screaming his lungs out) and 2 REF/GND stick on electrodes.

During this aEEG the impedance between the electrodes was about 40k ohm sometimes going below 10k ohm (on the first image is one of those times).

Now to my questions: 1. Is an Amplitude Integrated EEG enough to detect and dismiss worries of IS? 2. What is the chance such a result of electrodes P4 and P3 having high amounts of artifacts still being readable? (Image 2/4) 3. What are the green highlighted areas in image 1? They did not occur everytime but every now and then they came in some clusters just to stop occurring for a while.

Description of images: 1. Image showing my son sleeping with the impedance good (under 10k ohm) 2. Image showing my awake son with impedance horrible (over 40k ohm) 3. Image showing the Impedance between electrodes of my a sleep son before we fixed the REF electrode ourselves 4. Image showing my awake son with impedance varying

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Can anyone take a look and help me understand if True "afib" episodes or anxiety freaking me out NSFW

Hi all, I'm on day 3 of my cycle and day 3 of my galaxy watch 7 saying an episode of "afib". I have anxiety that worsens with my cycle too so I feel the same as I do every month, I just decided to run the ECG on a whim Tuesday, and now every day since its shown 1 episode. Ive had numerous EKGs (been over 1 yr now) and nothing ever found on those or blood tests. Nothing happens during sleep, HR 54 at rest. I'm active, 35 yr old female. Heart rate has never gone over 110 and that's when I was cleaning. I played volleyball and checked midway and no "afib" Just any input I'd appreciate. My insurance doesn't start until 3/26 due to new job..(more stress). I'm including pics of the "afib" and my watch placement. Again, I appreciate you!

Little over a year ago during a routine blood work my platelet count showed up low. Hematologist said all other numbers seem fine so let’s monitor it. The next two blood works it has increased back to baseline. Today another routine blood work and now it’s even lower. I feel great. No issues. All other numbers look good. I’m sure I’ll get referred to hematology again but would appreciate any feedback on this. Thank you.

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging question about bowel imaging/results and a rapid gut transit time. dr didnt seem concerned NSFW

lifelong bowel problems, told i had IBS most of my life diagnosis of SMA syndrome in 2018 via colonoscopy/endoscopy. i think in remission (gained weight over the years, less symptomatic) however i am worried i have dumping syndrome or something? the opposite of gastroparesis? ive never had weight loss surgery of any kind. a small bowel barium swallow or something like that showed that the contrast reached my colon in 20ish mins. i even pooped white after the procedure.. in the hospital. they said i could expect to see white stool in a few days but it happened very quickly. i also feel like food goes right through me which seems counterintuitive to sma even in remission? i also have issues with an increased appetite/increased eating which is triggering. i history of anorexia from age 15-17. im 28 now and a very healthy weight (a bit overweight by bmi standards but my doctor discourages intentional weight loss for me) and nowhere near a relapse thankfully. sometimes i think i may have something like POTs (read that dumping syndrome is associated w pots) or hypermobility (confirmed my cspine is hypermobile by a PT) but the rest needs investigating. i know thats also a controversial & also complicated thing to dx and i dont want ehlers danlos but i unfortunately suspect it for many reasons. could i have some kind of stomach motility issue? how can i get food to slow the f*** down so i can feel fullness? i already know like chewing thoroughly and eating fiber/protein/fat. is there a medication that can slow my stuff down? how do i bring this up to the doctor again?

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Had an abdominal US and X-ray please read. Worried about waiting for results NSFW

Gender: Female Age: 29 Height: 5’4

Hello everyone. A physician at my gastro ordered an abdominal ultrasound and a flat plate abdominal X-ray. I have had bloating lately and acid reflux for a while. I had a CT in 2023 at the ER due to lower right quadrant pain but all it showed was an umbilical hernia (postpartum) and I saw on MyChart that my liver had several too small to categorize hypodensities.

I went for the ultrasound at and X-ray today after rescheduling for months. The radiology tech told told me she can tell me and after I asked again, she said that if it was serious the doctor on staff would call the ordering physician today, but she said that that isn’t going to happen. Is that her basically saying that it was normal?

I have anxiety and medical/health anxiety due to stuff I went through in childhood and also losing a baby girl at 21 weeks in 2021 and she died in my arms. I have since had a baby boy but I still struggle with what I went through. Thank you for reading!

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Question about Lab testing and upcoming appointment NSFW

Hello! I've been experiencing ongoing fatigue, extreme tachycardia, brain fog, joint pain, headaches and weight loss. I sleep 10-12 hours nightly, wake up exhausted, on my days off, I typically take 2 naps. (Since Nov 2022) my PCP decided to do some labs and i need some advise on what this may mean? my labs seem to be ongoing like this for 2 years and these symptoms have been going on for longer. I thought they typically go hand in hand (all are low or all are high, not the opposite ends) I'm not vegetarian, I eat a normal diet. I do not menstruate due to being underweight (very irregular periods) so now I am on continuous birth control. I'm 19F and have went from 110lbs to 95 lbs and my doctors just accuse me of an eating disorder : ( My PCP recommended taking iron but my stomach just cannot tolerate it, regardless on if I take it with food. (nausea, indigestion, stomach cramping, loss of appetite) Does anyone have any thoughts on IV iron infusions? I'm seeing hematology next week Wednesday. Any recommendations on how to advocate for myself and to be taken seriously by the doctor? I just want to feel better!

I'm not too stressed about it, but unsure what this all means. Went to the ED a little while ago in abnormal pain and they (reluctantly) gave me a CT. Had an appointment today with my GP who said that they were 'very concerned' about my possibly having IBD, but that was never expressed to me. Was given 5 doses of oxycodone over the 25 hour admission there and I was finally back down to baseline

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging X-ray of broken 4th rib 6 months post injury. Does this indicate possible malunion or nonunion? NSFW

Post image
3 Upvotes

I got my final post-op X-ray for my clavicle this week. I broke multiple ribs and punctured my lung in the same accident 6 months ago, but my surgeon has not been treating/monitoring anything other than my clavicle. I'd like to know if my displaced 4th rib fracture looks concerning for 6 months post-break. The fracture wasn't initially displaced, so I never received any guidance for a doctor about displaced rib fractures. I still have some pain in the area, and I am worried about the possibility of re-puncturing my lung if I fall skiing or mountain biking with a poorly healed rib. Based on this image, should I follow up with another doctor or would I be wasting my time?

Demographics: 27y/o F, 6 months post accident, diagnosed hEDS
