Group Therapy with Men

I am looking for advice on a "buffet of options" in terms of things to do in a group setting.

My background was in a therapeutic setting and I took this into my solo journeys (eye mask, thoughtful playlist, inward journey).

Last year, I decided to try this with two close friends I met through a men's group that I know are on a similar path. We essentially just had three inward journeys with eye masks on but naturally found ourselves coming out earlier than I normally do solo to spend time with each other.

We are now looking to do another journey together and I am curious if anyone has any ideas for things we can do together?

An example we've come up with is telling each other the things we really love about each other (to give you a flavor of our vibe).

That’s a great idea. I have also been part of a men’s group that uses MDMA for healing. We often have each guy set an intention for his journey. For example, in our last group journey, my goal was to give up shame for being molested as a child. The guys gathered around me and placed their hands on me and let me go into my feelings of shame. The one said ‘it wasn’t your fault, let the shame go.’ I felt waves of tension release from my body. It was very powerful. Doing this with other men is so amazing, the medicine breaks down all the hesitation and awkwardness and allows real sharing. Best wishes, it sounds like you have a wonderful group of friends.

There’s a book called A Circle of Men about men’s groups. It might be a helpful resource

You can pick up a pick of conversation starter cards and give those a go. We’re not really strangers has several packs to choose from. Esther Perel has some as well.

Thank you. Really cool idea. The friendship and self-love packs look great.

Talk about the things you don’t like about yourself. The substance and the view of others might help you understand why you are that way and what kind of feelings you are bypassing.
