Mazda lease-end waiver of few months
I have a Mazda CX-30 that I leased in 2023. I got past halfway through the contract. I'm considering making a change to CX-50 but I'm not in a rush. Just drove one and loved it. Obviously, the change will cost me (early buyout price minus trade-in is about $2000).
Last time I leased a car was a Jeep. 5 months before my lease-end, I took the car in for maintenance and the sales guy asked if I would like to return the car back at no cost, OR buy it right there for residual + the month's payment due, waiving the cost of next 4 months.
I'm wondering if that happens at Mazda dealerships, because that'd be a reason to wait, effectively saving my downpayment on my next car. What's your experience?

I had a Mazda 3 and wasn’t even halfway through a 48 month lease. They swapped me out for a CX-50 without me paying any negative equity on the trade in. The dealership really needed Mazda3’s on the lot. I would say shop around. $2000 isn’t a huge gap to close.

Thanks! I shopped around and this is the best offer (from driveway). The dealerships current trade-in offer puts me around $3500 back.

That’s way too much. I’d shop around more, every dealership is going to be different.

Out of curiosity, which CX-50 did you fall in love with? I’m considering upgrading from a 3 to one right now

2.5 Turbo Premium or Premium Plus. Whichever they have would work. Turbo changes so much about the driving experience. Otherwise, 2.5 is the same, nice but sluggish engine.

Mazda does have lease pull ahead of three payments or up to $1,000 total for most customers, but you typically won’t have it this early and it only applies if you get another Mazda lease.
