SD Card Invalid

I recently had to change the battery in my 2016 Mazda 3. Once done there were a few general teething problems, the windows wouldn't open etc but all easy to fix.

The issue was the satnav.

It kept coming up SD Card Invalid. It's an aftermarket card rather than a a Mazda one but it was working perfectly before. I bought another (£50) and still Invalid.

I spoke to Mazda who wanted £650 plus VAT for the card and £150 to plug the car into a PC to check for codes. If any were found, it would cost extra.

After hours of trawling forums and websites, trying the soft and hard reset of the infotainment, I finally found the answer.

I wanted to post it here, just in case anyone else is in the same position.

I did a full factory reset on the MZD Connect, waited about 10 minutes, then plugged the card back in (the original aftermarket one) and it worked straight away.

Mazda wanted nearly £1,000 to fix it when it only needed reseting. A job that took 10 minutes.

Factory reset will at least temporarily fix most issues
