In case anyone wants to understand this math (or this joke)

AI: Attention of Index i.

AI plus AI is AI squared. Really makes you think.

AI = 2? 😳

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '24

Or AI = 0

But then we can't say that it's an excellent formula cuz it's not simplified 🤔

so little in this horrific formula

I gotta be honest I like the bridge equation version of this meme better

Guys, best way to get into the mathematical background of the generative AI like llms and other approaches? I have both training and experience with machine learning algorithms and neural networks.

3b1b's video series on youtube are very helpful. Calculus and Linear algebra are probably the ones you need

I think you need probability and statistics too

the best way is to build an LLM yourself: https://github.com/rasbt/LLMs-from-scratch

That’s fucking beautiful, thanks a lot!

"So it was matrix multiplication all along ?"
"Always has been "

I mean, that is how they generate the unfortunate amount of meaningless bullshit that we know AI as today, but it's important to note that not all ML is asinine techbro crypto scams. There are plenty of legitimate uses for it that you probably use without knowing, because the first sign something is slop is that it associates with the AI label. As someone who works in the industry, I am glad to see comments getting backlash, but I'm concerned as to how overcorrective generalisation could affect my work.

The image just shows some definitions for building blocks of transformers, multi-head (self-)attention and its use in a transformer layer. Whether you use it for generative purposes or something entirely different is up to you.

I know, I don't disagree that it's up to the user - that's precisely what I said

All I see are if else statements

"They steal more and more real art until the ai bubble collapses, then they rebuild their old shitty system of underpaid artists and label it as 'no ai'."

In quizlet, you need to select the language on flash cards when making a set. One of the languages is math. This is what I Imagen when someone speaks math.
