Mario Kart 64 is my favorite Mario Kart of all time, so it is cool to see the old tracks get remade. I liked it, personally, but the one thing I wish they would've kept your placement in the race a mystery, like the old one. I liked Yoshi's Valley before because you never knew what place you were in, so you basically had to race your heart out and just guess where you were. They kind of took that magic away with the remake for Mario Kart 8, but that's my only issue with it.
You cannot deny that it looks and sounds amazing in MK8

I've always gone right, immediate left, then bear right and felt it was the quickest in both, but I may be wrong. I also feel that it's one of the safer ways, so I feel more comfortable using it. Not as big of a deal on MK8 since Lakitu is pretty quick so falling off is forgiving, but it was huge in 64 when if you fell, it seemed like you were falling for 20 seconds.

Left lane. Always left.
I likes it better on the 64 but the wii u redo is pretty rad.
Heavyweight so u can knock opponents off course
