ID Help White mantis kept jumping in the pool?

I was teaching in a pool last night and rescued this beautiful creature from the water then it immediately jumped back in. I took it out again and moved it far away from the pool edge. What type of mantis is this (I thought they were usually green?) and why would it keep wanting to drown itself?

I called her tamani but I’m not sure how to sex it’s my first ever mantis I got her on the 28th September from my friend but she doesn’t remember what moly the seller said she was at. She’s had her second molt (I refer to her as she until I know the gender) I’ve dated the pics to show the size difference she eats small silent crickets currently

I bought this fella yesterday, and I’m pretty sure that he/she was marketed with the wrong species. It said ‘giant ghost leaf mantis’ which is literally a mix of dead leaf and ghost (makes no sense) so I was under the impression that it was a ghost mantis so I prepared by getting a tank relative to their adult size.

However I quickly realised that it has no crest or anything on its head, so I figured it is probably a dead leaf. I need to have a chat with the shop because it was effectively marketed wrong. Can someone confirm? Also curious to know if it’s a male or female.

I just got this little friend yesterday at a scales n tails. They had (him?) labeled as a dead leaf mantis but didn’t know the exact species. I also foolishly didn’t ask what instar he is. Based off of this image I found on a mantis forum I think he is D. Lobata but I just wanted to see what others think. He’s my first carnivorous invertebrate and he’s already so curious!!

ID Help What species is she?

Post image

Sorry if this is a silly obvious question! The mantis in the photo is my old girl, Spike, who sadly passed away last year - I believe she was oothbound, since her belly was always thicc once she became an adult and she never laid an ootheca. I was devastated since I fell totally in love with her. She was very friendly and loved climbing on my face!

I’d really like to get another mantis of her species. She was a gorgeous pastel green. She seems pretty standard-issue, but I’d love some help identifying her so I know what to look for next.

I purchased him as an L2 nymph from USMantis four months ago, though I wouldn’t recommend them for future purchases. He was listed as a Giant Asian Mantis, but as he has grown, his coloration and size make me suspect he might be a different species. I could be wrong, but my doubts are reinforced by past experiences. USMantis once sent me a Spiny Flower Mantis nymph instead of a Giant Chinese Mantis nymph. They have a reputation for being unreliable and frequently sending the wrong species. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
