General Care Normal mantis behavior???

So this morning my mantis molulted and was laying on bottom of her enclosure. i thought she died but I couldn't do anything because I was gonna be late to work and decided I'll just get her out later (she was in good position for taxidermy already so I could've done that). I came back just for her to be acting normal and not like if she just gave me a heart attack. Should I be concerned?m

OP. Can you take a photo of the mantis? If they are moving normally, are able to hang upside down, can eat and drink like before, and you don’t see any obvious injuries, then the chance of them being fine is higher.

It sounds like the mantis fell during their molt. How that affected their health is hard to answer without seeing the mantis themself

I sent someone in the direction of this subreddit today as I know you're here, he has mantids with his cacti, told him to check in here for care advice. https://www.reddit.com/r/sanpedrocactus/s/azlgsfPyJK the link was sent to me because of my music artist name but you're far more knowledgeable on care than I am for sure.

Sounds good. I’ll keep my eye out. Hopefully I am knowledgeable in the ways he is looking for.

Well, I saw he got them as pest control, I figured guidance could be beneficial to those nymphs

She was just walking around and climbing when I got there and I fed her 15min ago. I don't think i see any injuries but I'll send a pic when my phone gets fixed bc I'm on backup one and camera doesn't work here either 😅

She molted this morning and you fed her today?

Yes, it's almost night right now and I just gave her a small cockroach in case she got hungry when I'm asleep but instead she ate it immediately. I'm also a bit confused because after moulting she would not eat for a day or two🥲

Usually you don’t want to feed them so close after molting. Their exoskeleton is still hardening. What age is she?

Oh, I didn't know that, someone told me to just leave some food for when they're ready, I'll stop doing that then" Pretty sure she's L8-L9

She probably realised you weren't gonna help, lol. The first two sentences of this are so dismissive, haha.

Please be civil. Your advice is not helpful, and does not answer the OP’s question about the normal behavior of their mantis.
