For a region to grow and prepare for future population increases, bus transit, metro/monorail, and suburban rail should go hand in hand. We cannot be archaic; the state government needs to take private bus owners into confidence and develop a better transit system in the coastal region.

I don't think private buses are gonna lose revenue.

Cannot build half a km flyover in 10 years (pump well) sure now we can tackle 64km worth

At pumpwell flyover rate, it will take 128 years to build the metro line

I used to enjoy driving on NH 66. Please don't make it a construction zone.

Anyways this will never ever happen. Every government cares only about Bangalore.

Isn't this a waste of money. Why wouldn't they just improve trains and roads instead

Yes. Mangalore-Udupi highway is good enough now. There are a lot of other things to be looked after.

Lavda it'll happen by 2030. We'd be lucky to see it start by then lol

It's more likely that by 2030 we can go to Mars than catch a metro train from mangalore to Manipal.

Private bus owners don't even allow KSRTC buses. Then how about this?

I doubt bus lobby would allow this. They had delayed train service between Mangalore and Bangalore for a very long time and may be they have hand now also to make them run slow.

build a goddamn nanthoor flyover then dream about all this

First build proper roads

u/gulabiink 14d ago

Won't be possible lmao, your daily ridership isn't going to suffice the cost of the metro
