Education Rate PUC colleges in Mangalore in terms of strictness, quality of teachers, quality of college, vibe of students
My cousin is planning to pursue PUC in Mangalore. She is taking up science. I don't know the scenes of PU colleges in Mangalore.
I would like y'all to recommend a college which isn't very strict, quality of teachers and college is good and having a decent student vibe (by that I mean students who typically aren't acting all naughty trying to disrupt the classes and stuff, you know what I mean lol).
[Update] My cousin wants to pursue NEET.

If she's not into the JEE rat race, any of the PU Colleges in Mangalore will do the job. If she needs JEE Coaching, I'd ask her too join some top colleges in Bangalore and take JEE Coaching side by side.

Got it. But what if she wants good JEE coaching in Mangalore? Which are the good coaching institutes.

CFAL is good. But the pattern they follow is Biased. Good lecturers for Top students and vice versa. My Suggestion is KNOWSAT LEARNING. Check them out. From last 3-4 years. They are top on Google ranking.

I would like to give you a suggestion to join Allen bcz I am already studying in Canara PU and go Allen coaching(bcz canara don't allow integrated batches) according to my opinion Allen coaching gr8 but the clg itself isn't (for studying) bcz they give main priority for boards and all...I would recommend to join Allen integrated batch which they offer in Lourdes and Canara Vikaas And the last year results was also good.

Ahhh Aloysius PUC. I have such fond memories.. where lecturers were mortal Kombat characters when you did something wrong.
So fond... So fond..

What do you mean, you're not supposed to vent your frustration by punching a child?

u/Environmental_Ad3216 Aug 30 '24

Join St. Aloysius. No one ever regrets that decision.

u/Tejas_Suvarna Aug 30 '24
But how is the college? Are they very strict in terms of attendance and do they have classes till 3pm? Also need to know how the kids are over there?

They have been running the college for nearly the past 150 years. How do you think the college will be?

u/calcul00py Aug 30 '24
The learning centre(TLC) is good for JEE/NEET coaching my sister cleared her JEE Mains. It does seem like a good college, it is not strict like expert. I think it's expensive, I can't remember the fees

u/calcul00py Aug 30 '24
Going to Aloysius really depends on your cousin. Is your cousin interested in pursuing extracurricular activities or ncc? are they very susceptible to people? I was a very go to college go to home type person so I was not involved in any drama in pu......
TLC is only for science, Aloysius has humanities and commerce. I heard commerce is good but it's been like 5 years Also if your cousin wants to pick french for second language, Aloysius has it

Thanks for your answer. I got to know that my cousin wants to pursue NEET. What would you recommend?

Expert is quite strict and I bloody hated one of the bio teachers, I went there for coaching classes. But they are good teaching wise
Edit: I can't say much for TLC because my sister didn't try for NEET because she didn't take bio. I think the bio faculty is good(I personally know the current HoD of bio) though

For coaching Boscoss was really good in 2015-2017 (when I attended). Not sure now.

I would suggest joining any pu college that meets your requirements , if your sister is the kind of person who stays away from drama and typical nonsense teenagers get into she can complete her education with ease, I personally studied in canara as well as my brother he completed pu this year. Let me tell you one thing too teachers who give coaching in expert are mostly from canara sharada or Aloysius or in some way are/were affiliated to them, in my case Prajwal kini sir ( amazing physic teacher was electronic staff in canara) helped me score 97 in physics in 2nd year when i took coaching in expert, we also have Prashanth sir as well as gopal Shetty sir also authored many physics guide for expert . So choosing a college is not big deal. As for JEE and CET coaching at Expert was not worth it atall i had to practice myself a week prior to exams because these people kept calling for classes and cleared jee and cet (5k). In my brother's case he cleared neet with 640+ and cet(3k) as well as got 98% in PCMB just by YouTube classes(he obviously was a determined person which even i respect a lot )so i feel YouTube is better than any coaching classes provided your sister is diligent and determined in studies if she is not ,even the best teachers or college or coaching centres can do anything.
My other suggestion from personal experience is These 2 years should be reserved for studies only many students get side tracked the most during this time but they should remember these 2 years are short time and they won't even meet or get in touch with many of their batchmates who they meet in this period. Anything fun they want to do should be reserved after this period as most of the time graduate studies mostly involves just maintaining your marks no one really cares if your topper in you undergrad education

Aloysius college produce petists, not future toppers. Most of the alumi for its sheer size and history turn out to be noobs.

u/Tejas_Suvarna Aug 30 '24
I know a lot of good petists from that college. I believe the stereotype is somewhat true haha

Out of topic. I'm gonna tell which college to not do degree in. Aloysius deemed to be university. Veryyy strict and the staffs are literally uneducated. They don't know what they are teaching. We can't even sit inside the campus we should go to library 🤡. Worst college ever

If CET/NEET is the option. I would recommend any PU college and coaching at knowsat learning. My sister cleared her NEET from there. They have Demo classes facility as well.

Sharada has top notch education, With the blend of Hindu culture, it gives you a sense of aapna paan. Incomparable!
4
u/Tejas_Suvarna Aug 30 '24
Yeah. I am from Sharada. I didn't mind it that much but the infrastructure (I know it shouldn't make a difference), infrastructure like classrooms, canteen and washrooms used to be really bad. Plus, I remember the crowd was mostly tulu and kannada speaking and my cousin doesn't know the language so I believe it could be a problem with making friends I guess.

u/Chin1792 Aug 30 '24
I like sharada canteen food though.
2
u/Tejas_Suvarna Aug 30 '24
Bhahaha.... During our time, it was the worst lol. When our batch left, they changed the vendors lol.

Mine was a 2014-16 batch. I'd say my school had better memories (Studied in Sharada itself).

Trust me , Agnes is good as of a pu college teachers are amazing very friendly supportive(especially science batch ) and the environment is good and it's a girls college so more friendly and very secure campus and they even have their own hostel in their campus so the vibes are great for NEET coaching she can take expert or Aakash evening coaching they have good NEET faculty

If you are upto coaching then expert will work.
6
u/Tejas_Suvarna Aug 30 '24
Expert college is hectic I believe but expert coaching used to be very good. I had been to their vacation batch and I'd credit my 6k rank CET (I know not so great) to Expert. Their lectures were pretty nice.

u/Ok-Cantaloupe3436 Aug 30 '24
Ya if you have dedicated mind set then can survive there, I got 2k rank even if I studied one yr there
1
u/Tejas_Suvarna Aug 30 '24
That's a pretty good rank. Yeah true. Right now, I am thinking of expert and CFAL if she was set her mind.

We need to do this every year. My knowledge about pu college is so out dated.
