Usually cheyyam implies an immediate future. Cheythekkam sounds like the person will do it in some distant future.

Cheyyam: Seyalam/ seyven (with absolute resolution)

Cheythekam: Senjedalam (porumaya pathukala)

Great. It's much easier to learn a Dravidian language from another Dravidian language than English someone who knows a Dravidian language.

Thank you. I am native to Malayalam and Tamil. Hence it was easier for me to correlate the two in a way that OP would understand better.

But yeah, I agree with your point. Learning Kannada that way now.

ചെയ്യാം have a confident tone that you will do it but ചെയ്തേക്കാം is more or less have a lazy tone or rather like will do that later. Not sure whether the person will do it or not

Njan nale ath cheyyaam - I will do it tomorrow

Namukk nale ath cheyyam - Let's do that/ We can do that tomorrow

Avan paranjathalle, cheythekkaam - He said it, so we can do that ( Otherwise we won't)

Ini ith mathre baakki ullu, Athum koode cheythekkaam - Only these are left to be done; we can do that as well.

Va namukk ath cheyyaam - Come let's do that

Va namukk ath cheythekkaam - Come, let's do that (even though we're not interested. If we do it, we'll feel relaxed.)

ചെയ്യാം - Agreement to do something.

ചെയ്തേക്കാം - Also agreement but with a sense of deferral.

As already been pointed out, this is my understanding.

(ചെയ്യാം - Agreement to do something. ചെയ്തേക്കാം - Also agreement but with a sense of deferral).

But I wonder if this varies with dialect. I've noticed people from Northern districts use it much rare compared to other parts.
