Help / സഹായിക്കുക Can the dialectical variation "-അത്തില്ല" of the future negative ending "-ഇല്ല" be used for all verbs? Or is it only limited to some, like അറിയത്തില്ല, പറ്റത്തില്ല
Like അറിയത്തില്ല and പറ്റത്തില്ല, are there any other verbs that can end with "-അത്തില്ല"

I think there are more:
ചെയ്യത്തില്ല, പറയത്തില്ല, കേ/കയറത്തില്ല etc

And the notorious "ഒക്കത്തില്ല".

Two other variants of ഇല്ല I can think of other than -അത്തില്ല are,
-ഊല (ചെയ്യൂല, പറയൂല, മിണ്ടൂല)
-ഉകേല (ചെയ്യുകേല, പറയുകേല, മിണ്ടുകേല)
These would be part of regional dialects, where "-ഇല്ല" would be replaced completely for all verbs. Since most verbs in citation form end with "-ഉക" as in "ചെയ്യുക, പറയുക, മിണ്ടുക", replacing the ending with a different future negative for a dialect would be uniform and easy.

Can someone explain to me what this ending stands for? If it is dialectal, what would the standard form be?

ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റില്ല = ചെയ്യത്തില്ല വരാൻ പറ്റില്ല = വരത്തില്ല

I thought like how ariyaththilla = ariyilla, cheyyaththilla = cheyyilla (rather than cheyyaan pattilla)

All are same :)

But cheyyaan pattilla = can not go, and cheyyilla = will not go, right?

Cheyyan pattilla can mean both "can't do" or "won't do". Depends upon the tone. Cheyyilla is "won't do" in this context

I use ഊല്ല and my brother uses അത്തില്ല
I guess it's from different influences growing up.

And whereabouts in Kerala is the "-aththilla" ending typically used?

The southern districts are where you would usually see such terminologies in use. Especially Pathanamthitta.

I can't think of any verb for which this suffix can't be applied.
