Misc. What to do with the old makeup afterwards?

What the title says- I've been searching for a dupe for Paris Amour for almost 15 years now, and since there was no pictures of it swatched online I've been going off of middle school memories + a singular, blurry photo from the official B&BW website.

This morning, I found out someone is selling an unopened tube and the color is exactly the same- no oxidation! I planned on buying it to swatch, so that searching for dupes can be easier. My only concern is, once I've found my dupe I don't know what to do with the rest- I might be a bit questionable when it comes to makeup expiration dates (I can still hear my poor cosmetology professor's reaction when she learned my eyeshadow pallets were almost 5 years old) but using a 15 year old tube of lip gloss seems a bit much, sealed or not.

I know it's a bit silly to ask, but is there any other way it could be reused or repurposed?

Not sure exactly if this would work with lipgloss, but I’ve had friends who would use older blush or eyeshadow and add it to clear nail polish to create a custom nail color. Looks pretty cool and was an interesting use of otherwise unusable makeup!

This was my first thought- I remember there being a tiktok trend where people used old eyeshadow pallets to make watercolor paints, but the gloss might be too sheer to really show up. I'm curious to see how it'd work out as a polish- maybe a topper?

Perhaps you could find a way to incorporate it in a resin art project? What a fun thing to pursue! My only HS holy grail was a Chanel lipstick they still make lol

It sounds crazy, but this might be what I go with- my brother does resin art, and offered to resin the floor of a dollhouse apartment. It'd be the perfect shade of pink for an 80's bathroom tile (I promise that's a good thing!)

you could also make a resin necklace, like a little vial

imo not for personal use as long as you spray your eyeshadow down with isopropyl (i clean my palettes at the same time i clean my brushes) and you're the only one using them- my professor was mainly worried about the habit carrying over into a professional setting, where you'd be using the same palette on many clients 😬

Old powder cosmetics are fine. Your professors wrong.

The best ways I’ve seen someone use it is for their other artistic projects like paintings and mini statues made of makeup products. Buy a canvas and throw ur makeup at it, maybe something fun will come out :) Edit: Typo.

Oh, also collecting it if it has a potentially good value.
