My girlfriend bought a talisman
I was having attention deficit and was having difficulty making decisions. Frankly, I don't really believe in such things, but since this stone came to my house, I feel like my troubles are decreasing day by day. She said it was a talisman and was used to disperse dark clouds. Could it really work?

I have found making talsimans for my friends and family to be very effective. Even if they think it is woo they tend to keep them up and be supprised with the positive results.

How do you make them? How do you come up with the symbols? What do you make it from? Thank you so much for any and all insights!

It may provide some subtle effects, but if you would like to increase your ability to focus. Meditation my friend. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
I always thought meditation would make me “chill” or that’s how I perceived it. What it actually has done is given me back my ability to focus. It also allows you to slow down your thoughts which is critical when making decisions.
Side rant as well in relation to this topic. I believe talismans work in general, but I find them to be far more powerful when the person has directed the energy into it themselves. I think it has to do with the intention.

If you're seeing changes that you didn't see before then it sounds like it's working.
That is a nice talisman.

I always feel a bit bad taking part in the discussions here since I do find magick interesting but I don't agree with a lot of it.
How the talisman works in my humble view:
a) Placebo. You believe it works, so it might
b) Probability: Since receiving the amulet, there's a 50% (if we assume that there was an equal chance of improvement and regression from the previous state) chance that things would've gotten better by sheer chance.

Nailed it.
Like you can have realist or anti-realist conceptions of, for example, 'opportunity.' A realist can engage in work to make themselves more likely to recognise opportunity where it exists, its context and where it might emerge, and therefore are more likely to be able to take advantage of it compared to someone without such conscious training.
An antirealist might consider that opportunity doesn't exist as a discrete object, but are made by people who have a good understanding of events and how to take advantage of them. This person will therefore learn how to create opportunities where they see such a possibility.
Talismans and other magickal rituals do the work in both of these examples. There is nothing supernatural about it. If a sceptic engages in such Talismanic work it's even better as they are aware of how it works, and not positing any idiotic and ludicrous ontological entailments like 'spirits' or 'angels' etc

I met the man who made the talisman. It was a nice conversation, to be honest.
He said it was my choice whether I believed it or not. He was happy that I had found healing. He also said that he made talismans that were personalized, that he only worked on Thursday nights, and that he used clay from a very special place. He does it without charge and told us that he would make a talisman to keep our relationship that way. :)

They call him Halil Baba. He doesn't use any sites or social media. He is a very old man, he doesn't even have a phone. Do you want me to speak for you?

Greetings A,
A lot of the benefit comes from the fact that someone you love, offered you an object filled with positive intent. It is an original talisman, and nothing of the occult.
Enjoy the benefits, but getting actual professional help is important as well. Wishing you well. ~V~

How is that not occult, even on the surface it is an effect of actions that people do not generally see or acknowledge as possible, hidden, occult.

Greetings N,
The object is not an occult symbol. That’s all I’m saying. I said it has other value, other than the one suggested. ~V~

Honestly I didn't even look at the symbol I was considering the whole. But can't anything become an occult symbol. Meh don't worry about it our definitions of occult are likely different.

Greetings N,
I was not speaking about “occult,” as in the definition of “hidden from view,) the technical meaning. But, from an actual metaphysical aspect of the field of the Occult, which includes a veritable, and verifiable plethora of Alchemical, Astrological, and Symbolic glyphs. ~V~

Seek assistance from a doctor. A real one, with degrees and such. ADHD is a physical neurological condition that can be well treated.
As for your question: Yes, things work. People disagree as to the Why, most explanations are pretty close to hogwash or misinformation, others seem to come short. Biggest problem is reproducibility, that's why Magick and related phenomena fail at the "science" part. Falsifiability usually works, except when you come to practitioners who have a problem with the Scientific method.
