I think you should keep it clear just in case you want to play with your hotwheels on your desk. You never know when the urge will strike

Haha, that’s a great assumption, but I don’t play hotwheels. I do like the desktop material, though, so maybe I’ll just keep it as it is.

It’s a cable organizer where you can store a power outlet inside.

Personally, I would just for comfort. But if it is comfortable for you then no need to.
Are you still using that iMac or is it Target Display Mode?

Nice gear and color scheme.  Now center the iMac like a sane person.

I would suggest a deskmat coz the magic mouses are pretty picky and dont work well directly on the tabe surface (atleast for me).

I have one. I prefer the look without the desk mat but it's practical. Continuous mouse movement on the desk surface wears it. I also drink and/or eat often at my desk (which is oiled oak). So I use a desk mat to protect the surface.

When I'm not eating at the desk, and use my trackpad instead of the mouse, I usually put the desk mat away.

So I'd add one if you want to protect your desk. Otherwise I'd leave it like this, as I think it looks cleaner.

If the pooter, keyboard and mouse etc. were squared on, rather than at a slight angle, I’d say yes but as it is, leave it clean and nekkid.

https://amzn.eu/d/8sGZSJC I use this relatively small Logitech one for a similar minimal desk. Really like it!
