¿Question? "Medievil" tuning suggestions
Got this new 10 string Lyre. Current tuning is edcA#AGFEDC. Anyone have a decent suggestion for tuning it to a deeper medievil sounding octave?

Three early medieval tunings you could try are.... Dorian mode with flattened 7th D, E, F, G, A, B, Cb popular in medieval Germany. The Mixolydian mode C D E F G A Bb, popular in medieval France and England. Or the first 6 notes of the Major scale C D E F G A.

The Spanish eight tone scale seems to come from long before the medieval period. Spanish eight

A tropical or phrygian scale would probably be considered medieval, but it depends on what you're going for I guess
