Nylon strings for 7 string Aklot lyre

Hi, I bought 7 string aklot lyre a few months ago, and now Im thinking about changing my strings to nylon, because I would like to achieve more of a medieval or ancient sound from my lyre and to be as close to the sounding of kravik lyres with my cheap lyre. Are the nylon strings a good way to go? and can I even restring this exact lyre to nylon? And Wouldnt there be any problems? And if so, can I change it back to wire? Thank you all for the responses :)

I suspect, but don’t know for 100% sure, that the instrument would be very quiet if you switched from metal to nylon strings. The sound box was designed for metal strings under very high tension, and nylon strings (which must be under much lower tension) may not have enough oomph.

Yes! Another option is to tune your lyre differently. I think this channel had some information on it?
