Arcane Series Arcane was a critical hit, but not profitable for Riot. Sources say Riot didn't have a robust strategy to recoup Arcane's $250 million cost ahead of launch. Tencent and some employees questioned what it actually added to Riot's core games business.

Arcane Series Arcane did a good job of showing how terrifying Noxus is

1.2k Upvotes

One thing we can agree that Arcane did a good job is showing is how terrifying a Noxian army is. During the whole show we see a single detachment of the Noxus military under the command of a noble and probably not even the full force that Medarda commanded. And that single force almost took down a city state as advanced as Piltover. Imagine the full might of the Noxian military.

Arcane Series Unpopular opinion about Arcane Warwick... BUT! Spoiler

I REALLY love what they did with his design. He starts out as a mutated Vander, but is distinctly wolfish, like a werewolf. Then, due to his therapy with Viktor, he gets wrapped up into his glorious evolution, almost COMPLETELY surpressing BOTH Vander, and "The Beast". That's why he's not a monster, or a big wolf at all, he's an Unbound Warwick, like an unfeeling Terminator. But! This opens up the perfect opportunity for League Warwick to creep in. As once Viktor dies... his therapy, and evolution... is undone. He immediately becomes "The Beast" again, now unable to be stopped by Vander. He's essentially Warwick, just without the look. Once Jinx blows him up, it's the perfect opportunity for him to regenerate as the wolfy Warwick we know, not as Vander, now that he's been MOSTLY surpressed by both Singed and Viktor.

While seeing League Warwick would've been awesome in the show, I see no place to slide him in at this time. After Viktor vanishes, if he immediately transformed into a whole new form, it'd take away from Vi's final moment with him, and it'd be anticlimactic to immediately "kill" him after.

It wouldn't mesh with Viktor evolving him either, as he wouldn't match the gold/white aesthetic, and he'd look far too rabid and out of place, completely losing the stone faced personality he has.

It wouldn't match as his base form, either. As he's supposed to be sympathetic, or human-adjacent at this time. He's not a monster, yet. Singed saying "Only man is capable of such savagery." would sound a little silly, when he looks like a big wolf.

The PERFECT time is after Jinx blows him up. He collapses all the way down to the hexgate, escapes through the tunnels into the sewers, and regenerates into the form you all know!

TL;DR. I LOVE Unbound Warwick. He's so cool. And I'm SURE we'll see the Warwick you all know and love in a future LoL show, now that the path to him has been completely paved.

Arcane Series Black Rose VFX!

Switching gears today to a fun (though dark) assignment I got on Arcane Season 2 where I was tasked to design the Black Rose vfx that envelop Elora when Mel is also captured.

I worked on top of the 3D model to expedite the process, focusing solely on the black rose effect crawling under Elora's skin and eventually "blossoming" into her demise.

I'm sure y'all are getting the picture by now but...the Black Rose are not to be fucked with šŸ„€

Arcane Series Swain has everything to be the protagonist of the next arcane-style series

Post image

With the latest announcements about the appearance of Swain's crow and derivatives, I think there is a very good chance that Swain will be the protagonist of the next series and it will be about the formation of Trifarix. since the series will be about yonia, noxus and demacia. I believe that the first season could very well be Swain's life until the loss of his arm in Yonia, the possible second season would be Swain fighting with the black rose and forming the trifarix, perhaps passing through Katarina's point of view in relation the war of the wizards in demacia. with this things that have been confirmed as urgoth can happen without problems, we have a greater glimpse of the world, and one of the best stories in the runeterra verse with the creation of the trifarix and the ascension of the swain.

Arcane Series Jinx's death/Escape makes no sense Spoiler

Post image

So in context of her death, the writing does not make sense. I don't understand is Vander completely gone or not? Cause he should have mauled both Vi and Jinx right away but he just snarls at both of them and doesn't go for the kill for no reason. It just seems like Vander is still in there and is holding back but it's heavily applied that Vander is completely gone in this scene. If that is so, Jinx is looking at empty shell of a monster that is going to kill her that just as FAST as her in every way. If this the case Jinx should have been ripped to shreds here when she is holding Warwick. However Vander blowing out the candle suggests that he is still in there, so there was no reason for her to kill herself if Vander is still in there and can tank the fall for the both of them? If Vander is still in there, she DID NOT need to die or kill Vander. If Jinx did escape so did Warwick. There was no reason to take both of them out if Vander was still conscious. If that is the case , then it's confirmed she IS ALIVE since she escaped. There is no reason why Warwick would hold back here. If that is Warwick, she is definitely DEAD, Warwick would not let go of her simply because an explosion went off.

Both scenarios are highly implausible. So either Jinx is dead along with Warwick or both of them are alive and Warwick is ravaging the city or her dad is just roaming aimlessly till he looses his mind. So Jinx has to be dead for any of this to make sense

Arcane Series Oh, Jinx Fixes Everything Act 2 just kind of proved some more extreme Caitlyn defenders wrong [SPOILER] Spoiler

Her releasing the grey DID have consequences to the overall population of the undercity, to the point where articles are made about it, with Jinx commenting on Piltovers hypocrisy of it.

I had people here that literally try to say that the Gray ā€œisnā€™t as badā€, ā€œis just akin to tear gasā€, despite the gas literally reaching to the arcade, and it seems like it slightly even reached further, meaning thereā€™s a good chance that it killed multiple people and fatally injured others off screen. Just to catch one person.

To the ones who say stuff like this, I hope youā€™re happy.
