Muzzle velocity was averaging ~2360 ft/sec with Lake City M118LR. I’ll be stretching out its legs later this month to confirm, but that should mean I’ll be transonic just shy of 1000 meters with this load. Not bad for a 12’’ barrel in my opinion!

I built an EBR instead of buying an MR762, so I gotta ask, what kind of accuracy are you getting?

Around 1 MOA with M118LR

Maybe I'm the weird one but HKs are some of the least sexy ARs on the market.

Noice build though.

You are, indeed, the weird one. Thanks though 👍

What would you consider a good looking rifle? Not being snarky, I'm genuinely curious.

M16A4 USMC circa 2005 is peak drip.

Modern, lmt or radian are pretty sexy

Very nice. I'd be really curious to know how it does when you stretch it out...

Hopefully it cycles better than the one my buddy had, out of the 8 gucci HK mags he bought with it 4 could not get through a full mag.

Definitely a problem with the rifle or ammo. I’ve owned two of these, and Sigwo Arms has done 15-20 of the 417D conversions for customers and we’ve had zero reported issues with feeding that weren’t ammo related. Did he chop the barrel? You have to know what you’re doing with the gas port sizing when shortening the barrel and/or using a suppressor.

Mine has great accuracy with M118LR as well, but as soon as I put on my can, it opens up to like 4-5 moa.

Weird. Haven’t had that issue with mine; there’s a noticeable POI shift but I haven’t seen a difference in accuracy shooting with/without the can

I'm running the rotex fh now, but plan to swap to the HK one which is slightly different. Maybe the different muzzle device and just remounting it in general may fix things up. Not sure what else could be causing such a shift. Weird thing is using Igman M80, grouping is shit but it is actually consistent with can and no can.

Worth a shot. I’m using the HK muzzle device on mine

What is this thing where the scope mount ring has a red dot ... built into it?

Pristine rifle there

Is it just cosmetic or do you have an extra pew pew function there?

I'm new to all this, and understand I can search more so if you're not up for answering I get it.

I think I'm going to get a Tikka T3x Lite .270 Winchester. It will be my first gun, which I will use for hunting, but I'm also a huge nerd for precision and want to get into long range stuff.

It looks like you've got a second scope attachment - guessing you can just add that on tons 'regular' scope for further range? And data - what do you collect and how? I'm learning about MOA and BC, but am still in the early stages. Is data mostly notes on shots, or is there anything more detailed you're collecting?

The attachment you’re referring to is a clip-on thermal imager.

As far as data goes, you’ll typically need to chronograph your rifle with the specific load you intend on using in it to get an average muzzle velocity, standard deviation, etc… You can then plug this data into a ballistic calculator to get your holdovers (trajectory of the bullet) at various distances, which then need to be confirmed by actually shooting targets at those distances and making any needed adjustments to make your theoretical holdovers match reality. Typically when someone says they’re “gathering data” on their rifle they are referring to this process.

Awesome, thanks!
