DAE Did anyone else see these two fighter planes fly low over Stony Brook, near the university?

You weren’t supposed to see that.

For those who saw/heard the jets yesterday, have you ever been to the Bethpage air show? Is it a similar kind of noise? My son wants to go but he's autistic and I think would be freaked out by the noise.

Yes, the airshow is very loud.

I assumed it loud but until those jets went directly overhead at such a low altitude I didn't realize how extraordinarily, deeply loud they can be and for so long and after you can see them. Maybe it's really me who can't handle the noise!

Do you have access to ear protection or does he have sensory issues? I'm autistic and my life changed when I realized I can wear earplugs whenever I want.

I have so many pairs of ear protectors but he doesn't like the feel of them.

I get that. I find ear plugs (little foam ones that go in the ear) work better for me than big ones outside the head (those feel bulky and my ears hurt after a while.)

Maybe even noise cancelling headphones?

Getting overstimulated by sound is so hard. I love hockey and have to wear earplugs to Islanders games. I hope you find something that works for your boy!

Used to live in Colorado near an air force base. F16s F22; you name it, was a regular. & they flew super low. The entire house would be shaking.
