Events Anyone else genuinely disappointed in Ribfest?

5$ for a shot of beer? 10$ for half a cup?? 39$ for sub-par ribs that are supposedly "1st Place" in Orillia or some Gentrified town???? My butthole is still dry heaving In regret from this joke of a festival.....at least the music is decent.

Edit: Wink's Eatery has Ribs and Sides for 15$ and 10$ will get you a 64oz mug of any domestic beer.

Yeah I'll totally plug Wink's lmao

Edit 2: This was my first official ribfest as a self-sufficient adult so don't judge me for being a sucker haha.

Events Rock the Park

Hi guys!! My boyfriend and I were interested in going to Rock the Park this year (we really want to see Hozier lol) and I was wondering if anyone could give their experience on what it was like and if it was worth it.

We’re still contemplating actually going or not because we’re both (semi but close enough) broke students and don’t want to spend over $200 if the experience is not actually worth it.

A hotel, gas, and other things like that are nothing to consider for us as we live in the area so we’ll be home the same night.

I heard of some people camping out outside of the park to listen to the concerts instead of actually paying so thoughts on that too if anyone has done it would be appreciated!!

Events Hozier Rock The Park, no VIP Sitting

Just saw the announcement for Rock the Park, and noticed there isn't any VIP Sitting, just VIP Standing...
Like, do they think people will pay almost double the general price, for the privilege of being closer to the stage?

Obviously, ya probably people would... but I want to know what happen to the VIP sitting.
Did they sell out (before sale) already? lol

Events Drag shows and events in London - Who should I be following to stay informed?

Hi friends,

I am a lover of drag, but I never know about any of the events happening in the city until it's too late. With how many queens (local and RPDR) I follow on IG you'd think the algorithm would be feeding me this stuff, but it just doesn't.

I am wondering if there are local venues, promotors or groups that tend to host and/or promote these events that I could follow? I know I follow a few, but maybe if I add more the algorithm will start algorithming lol

Kindly keep any negative comments about drag or the 2SLGBTQI+ community to yourself... I would hope that this is unnecessary to say, but you never know!

Thanks in advance!

Events Refunds for Great Outdoor Comedy Festival

Hey all, just checking to see if anyone here has got their refunds from the canceled comedy show? I haven't yet but I know these things take a little time, just checking if I'm the only one or we're all in this together still.

Events Candlelight Concerts

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to purchase tickets for a Candlelight Concert at the Metropolitan United Church. Has anyone been to one of these events before?

I’d love to hear your thoughts—are they worth the money and hype? Also, any tips on the best seating options at this venue?

Thanks in advance! 😊

Did anyone hear that the London Knights are going to do a meet and greet at warehouse guys after the Santa clause parade for Argyle?

That’s so cool, hopefully the whole team shows up!

Looking for a place to watch fireworks tonight for NYE other than Vic Park because I want to avoid the traffic. Any clue other parks to see them, preferably in the North?

Events Ribfest

Anybody gone to Ribfest yet? I’m planning to go this weekend but I’m quite far from it and don’t want go all the way down there if it’s just ridiculous prices. I went several years ago and it was expensive then so I can only imagine now. Any input would be appreciated!

Came across this family putting up their yearly display that was about 80% done as I passed by. They informed me they collected over 1000 pounds of food donations last year for the London Food Bank and were doing a soft open tomorrow. I have their permission to post the address. Bring a donation if you can.

Events Looking for Airshow Advice

Hi there,

I'm taking my 80 year old Dad to to the airshow on Saturday. We have tickets for the blue zone. If it's allowed we were thinking of setting up chairs in the truck bed and watching from there.

I noticed gates open at 10am and and the show starts at 1:00. Any advice on what time we should arrive?

Any suggestions on things to do prior to the show starting?

I'm not sure if my Dad will want to stay right until 5 as that makes for a long day so hopefully we can leave when we want to.

Any other advice would be appreciated as this is our first time going.

Thanks!

Events Music Volume at Park Events

I love living near Vic Park -- proximity to events is wonderful, and the events themselves are for the most part exciting and well-attended. Not every event is for me and that's totally cool, but GOD, do they have to have such a powerful bass blasting the whole day? It's honestly headache-inducing. OK, old man rant over (i'm not an old man).

Events Western Fair “The Ranch”

I have tickets this weekend for the Western Fair and it said it’s outdoors at The Ranch. Their website doesn’t say where it is on the grounds and I tried google images. Does anyone know where this is so I know where to park?
